View Full Version : Is there a way to load VMI or DCI files?

The save game type stored at Gamefaqs.com is VMI and DCI. I was wondering if nullDC has the ability to load these save games. And if so, how is it done? And if not, is this a feature we could expect in the future? Or not?
Thanks :)

Use Chankast VMSBrowser

Am I able to use the VMS Browser for nullDC? Or do I have to use it with Chankast? I'm not sure how to load the vms.bin for nullDC since it uses vmu_data_port01.bin (I think). When I go to Option -> Maple -> Port A -> Sub-device 1, then VMU: vmu_data_port01.bin is greyed out.

You don't really use it with either. Chankast comes with vmsbrowser, that is the tool you use.
In vmsbrowser you can open the vms.bin file, import/export your desired game data, save it, then copy the vms.bin file to the nullDC directory. Rename it to vmu_data_port0x.bin. (x is the # of the VMU you want it to be, usually 1).
I did this with DOA2 LE and Soul Calibur and it worked perfectly.

In the future, the maple plugin(s) will load these files, if someone can pm me a site that has the specs for these filetypes i'd appreciate it.

When I try and import a save using this procedure it gives an error stating "VMI file require a .VMI/.VMS file pair". Where am I going wrong exactly?
Edit:
Nevermind I found a site where I could get the saves in DCI format. Thanks anyway.

I posted a thread about a vms explorer application I found on another website, it is easier to use in my opinion than vmsbrowser. No replies to it, so apparently no one cares.
