I have loved playing this game since its release in 1997, yet now when I go to play it on my computer, I always have the game freeze up when I go to exit the transition or "CD" changing rooms between the different areas of the castle (the room where the music stops and prepares to switch. So what I'm left with is a frozen screen of me about to leave this room, and by then it's far too late to save any progress I've earned and I'm forced to reset the emulator, where upon it will mostly likely freeze in one of the rooms yet again. It's definitely not an issue regarding my comp., because occasionally while I'm playing I check the task manager and my cpu usage will be at the most 25% and I will have plenty of available ram (over 512mb). Please help, this is probably my fav. PSX game of all time yet its really sucking some major [youknowwhat] and a little help would be nice, in fact a little help would be "Very Nice [How Much]"...

I know I'll regret saying that. In fact, I already have.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated...

Well not to drag people away, If anybody who isn't familiar with this game and emulator have a fix for this come by ignore what im going to say, If no one can yet to solve your issues, Resort to using a different emulator. Such as a highly rated one

LINK: Emulators - NG Emulation source for Xbox, GBA, Nintendo 64, PSP, Nintendo DS and more! (http://ngemu.com/)

If someone else knows the problem ignore my advice, People can be slow on these forums.

Its a problem pSX has with the game, try EPSXE.

There is a way to keep it from happening in pSX by like, opening the menu before opening a door or something? I don't really remember, someone mentioned something like that though.

Yeah, it was psicomaniaco. I'll quote him again on that:

Ok, here's a hint: when you get to the screen change area (the one where the music stop playing), OPEN THE MENU BEFORE GOING TO THE NEW SCREEN.

If the game freezes when oppening the menu, wait some seconds, and the game will un-freeze. Now, close the menu and go to the new area.

If you do this, the game will NEVER freeze when going to a new area. Oh, and do this before going to a boss fight, and after you beat the boss.

Again: OPEN THE MENU, WAIT FOR THE MENU SCREEN TO APPEAR, CLOSE THE MENU, GO TO THE NEW AREA.
