whats the difference between
* DeSmuME v0.6.0 source
AND
* DeSmuME v0.6.0 windows binary
what is each one specifically for and which one is best for me ?

Well, you got the wrong thread. It is for desmume and isn't for ideas emulator thread. :)
* DeSmuME v0.6.0 source is something you can use C++ program to development this emulator yourself.
AND
* DeSmuME v0.6.0 windows binary is an emulator that allowed you to play nds games but not all nds games are fully playable yet and the developer already modified the code into the source then compiled it to the windows binary so you can play it on your PC. I hope it helps. :)
If you are programmer and know how to use C++ then use the source instead but if you are like us then use the windows binary to test and play them on your PC.
