Can't you read the other 6 threads about the same in this forum? You didn't even had to use the search button, just read before pushing the "Create thread" button!

actually they do but i'll tell you anyways. Next time search before you come posting about a problem.
Download NO$GBA 2.3d (latest version)
Obtain BIOS (cannot provide links - illegal)
Obtain Firmware (illegal cannot provide links)
Obtain eNDryptS Advanced 1.2
Obtain the Pokemon Diamond or Pearl ROM.

first. Extract NO$GBA, the BIOS, Firmware and eNDryptS Advanced into one
folder. (i named it NDS) then open eNDryptS Advanced and press 1.
wait for it to encrypt the ROM and then close it. Open up NO$GBA and
click "pokemon pearl/diamond" and you'll see 3 lines in Japanese. Go to options
and click on emulator options, go to NDS Backup media and select the correct
game save type corresponding with your game. Then just click file and reset.
the GAME is VERY slow like a sloth, so i do not recommend playing it yet until
the team is finished with emulating all NDS games so they can focus on increasing speed and performance.

Everything said above is correct, except I've been able to run DS Games without Firmware, although I don't know if it effects anything. Anyways, Pokemon D/P is playable but so slow, that it can be said to be unplayable, your best bet is either too wait for a new version, or try the other Nintendo DS Emulators.

Everything said above is correct, except I've been able to run DS Games without Firmware, although I don't know if it effects anything.

Firmware is actually used by most games to produce the effects of the touch screen in the emulator, not to mention that some games actually take the base settings that were entered into the nds firmware to begin with. So if the firmware for the emulator is not present, some games will only partially work, while others will just not function at all.

THERE'S NO WAY AS OF NOW!

Chuckdawg

No, there is exactly NO WAY to speed it up, the Nintendo DS Emulation is still in early devleopment. If you can't simply wait for it, then simply buy a Nintendo DS and Pearl/Diamond when it comes out.

Is this why Super Mario DS has terrible GFX Problems? Oh well, I figured FirmWare was required somewhere down the line, but never knew about it. I appreciate your notice with this.

Most of the DS games I've tryed require touch screen activity in order to start the game, and u need firmware for the touch screen to function... as for the speed we all have to wait until a newer version of the emulator is presented that can emulate in real time :) as for now i presume we should all be tahnkful for all the progress of the development team... way to go guys!

Simple, they use a video accelerator.

LordLoafer

This emulator just doesn't have fast 3d yet. It's the same with Mario Kart, at least for me it is. Everything is emulated, but runs slow. In Pokemon the speed is torture once you leave a building and go outside.

MT

Errrm, it won't speed up the emulator. Get a progran like SnagIt or FRAPS to record the video, then speed the VIDEO up. That's why the speed is ok in the video.

PRprince
April 17th, 2007, 01:25
yea i agree gabitafm (ps strange handle)

the mostly likely nser to your no$ is prob that you dont have all the files needed in your no$ folder......wait, i wasnt supposed to say that was I ?

and about the wise answers, yea i also agree, its contagious you know. so be careful.

P.S : Many people think that the higher memory they have in their card the more powerful it is. It is wrong, you must try to search for specifications such as clock speed. The higher the speed the faster will be the card. Then if the card is already fast, high memory can only help for power of the card :)

TosheX
April 17th, 2007, 09:29
Obviously doesnt matter if you have a top class VGA because the emulator limits are these for now, and u wont get the game to speed up anyways... so wait until further releases of NO$ and i guarantee that the game will be perfectly emulated in one of those.

Andemon
April 20th, 2007, 17:44
Not even close to impossible..
Many stores get games few days in advance, and then there are the review copies and all that. That particular one doesn't /seem/ like a review copy (based on the other stuff I see in the photo), so I suppose some store started selling them before they were supposed to. Nintendo won't like that, but oh well...

Clements
April 20th, 2007, 17:45
Far from impossible. Games do not magically become available to the retailers for sale exactly on release dates. They often get them as much as a week earlier. Anyone who either works or knows someone who works for a game retailer can get hold of a copy.

Edit: What Andemon said.

I bet that by the same time tomorrow, there'll be numerous fakes of those games floating around various p2p networks.

i get no$ is relatively new, but as far as features / and being user-Friendly, its way behind vba. thats an issue i dont think that time/new versions will fix. but i wont lie i use no$ also, and it bugs the 'dump' out of me, that it (no$) seem to run larger games better than vba, perhaps instead of hoping that no$ gets better (more improved) we should look forward/push for vba improving instead.)

Except you won't be able to load the saves, some Communication error appears in the English version....

I just discovered that the SAV file saved for the english version of Pokemon is playable with the japanese version as well - and your pokemon's name will be in English!

Havn't tried the other way around since I can't load any saves from the english version. But I'm pretty sure it works too - but why would you want your Pokemon to be in their japanese name in an English version... :p

speediakal , I think that you have some problems with your configurations , or is an error in your rom (?)
Because touchscreen works for me in every game. And as far as I know, I didn't even have to make that firmware.bin

pikablu0530
April 22nd, 2007, 08:19
speediakal, after testing and some combination of settings, I've figured out something.

If you have a genuine Firmware.bin (one that is dumped, not a renamed no$gba.inp), and it's in the folder, you must choose "GBA Bios" when you start instead of "Start Cartridge Directly", otherwise the touchscreen simply won't work.

If you renamed no$gba.inp to firmware.bin, then you cannot choose "GBA Bios" because it's not a real firmware file, so you have to "Start Cartridge Directly", however the touchscreen and save will work correctly this way.

If there's no firmware.bin file at all, and you choose to "Start Cartridge Directly, some games simply won't load properly.

pokemon evolve when they get to a certain level, lets say for monferno to evolve into infernape it's lvl36, so when it gets level 36 it starts to evolve. you can cancel the evolution by clicling the b button (the cancel button) and the next time the pokemon gets a new level, e.g. lvl37 it wil try to evolve again. there are items to permanently stop evolution.

hope this answers your question

If you don't let your Pokémon evolve when it gets the right lvl (like monferno to evolve into infernape it's lvl36) and keep stoping the evolution will your pokémon get stronger when it evolves or not?!

E.g.: A lvl 40 Monferno X A lvl 40 Infernape; Who is the stronger in this fight (without knowing about items, attacks...)? If you look at them STATUS, who will be stronger?
Infernape, I guess.

BUT!! If you let that Monferno evolves when it gets lvl 41, will it be a stronger Infernape that the Infernate that evolved in the right lvl (36?!)?

PLUS: What's the risk of the pokémon lose an attack move?!
E.g.: Monferno learns "Fire Blast" (I don't know, its just an e.g.) in lvl 38 and Infernape in lvl 36 (right when Monferno evolves to Infernape).... if I let my Monferno evolves in lvl 37 it'll lost Fire Blast, right?

I think you can understand now :)
But I can try to explain again if you need :thumb:

someone in the german comunity has patched the rom

you need this prog to patch the rom with the ips file:

Hope you understand now:p

Ohh, I understand now, but I didn't know that, I was thinking about something like that this morning, like: "Why the status points are automatically given when the pokemon earns a lvl?!" That make all the pokémons of the same species almost the same.

Ok, I'll try to rephraze my question.

xD Well, read my explanation and see if you understand now ;)

(=] Finally: 100 posts, 2 stars ^^)

I'm almost there too. =)

This is a site with a pokedex where you can check stats for various pokemon http://pokemon.marriland.com/diamond_pearl/pokedex... as you can see evolved ones always have better stats...
as for what is better, evolve early or late, i think that question is answered in various walkthroughs, and im not 100% sure but i think that early evolving is better, although there were some rules i cant remember that allow you to make a perfect stat for a pokemon...

so just find some walkthroughs and the answer should be in one

Thanks to barkhad

someone in the german comunity has patched the rom
(but he dont know, if there are another bugs with the patch):
http://www.sor-gts.de/files/lgc-pkmd.ips
you need this prog to patch the rom with the ips file:
http://home.pages.at/yoshi87/downloads/ipswinger.rar

patch is for diamond..
it only works with real firmware (not the no$gba.inp trick)

Edit: Do not ask for Firmware. It is illegal, ok ? :)

Edit 2: One more post and I got 1,400. HEH!

The patching stuff really works. Everything is running smooth so far. Thanks alot RockmanForte for sharing.

a)loaded the encryptor and pressed 1. (when i do this, the encryptor goes away and i get a txt file in my folder)
b)then i bring up the patch file from kingcom and i put my rom on top and the ips on bottom (i clicked on both the little boxes on bottom..not sure what they meant)

anybody with some help?

Just don't encript the game file, post a shot of your emu config window and your emu folder.
Don't do nothing with the game file, just use the patch.
Set the "RESET/STARTUP ENTRYPOINT" tab to "Start Cartridge Directly".
I'll read your problem again and see if I can help, but do what I said first.

EDIT: I re-read your post.
1st: Do NOT encrypt the game file.
2nd: Follow these steps:
- Use the patch (you don't need to check those box...);
- Look if the "RESET/STARTUP ENTRYPOINT" tab is set to "Start Cartridge Directly";
- SAVE SETTINGS;
- Open the game (or restart it).

and 3rd:i click on the original rom file that i downloaded

Don't mention that here, you may be in trouble...
Ngemu doesn't support piracy.
You joined us today so I'm just alerting you, read the rules or learn mistaking (and believe in me, the second can be a little worst :p).

EDIT II: Now I'm gonna read another chapter of Harry Potter, any problem you may have, post here and I'll reply asap =]

Ok, new issue; I got the rom to work, however it only works when I have he sound disabled on the options, and I like to hear the sound if possible, any solutions?

Well, new solution:
If the sound is disable, the game freezes after battles.
Turn on the sound, but It's not that good yet, if you want more quality, set it to Digital Stereo and High 44kHz but that can make the game runs slower, and because the speed, the sound can be weird.
I play without volume, then I can't say if the sound is good or not.

Try it yourself :thumb:

Or you can try what wamu said:

to fix the sound do this...
Ok, the sound when u start it will be crackling like wtf.

The trick is, change it into realtime speed.

Then wait a bit.

Then turn on sound at digital stereo best.

It will end up in PERFECT sound.

Get a faster computer and/or upgrade your RAM. My Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz one runs the game perfectly at around 100%, P4 1.7Ghz lapton runs around 80%, but the Pentium III 800Mhz one runs it at 50-60%.

If you tried running at Unlimited Disaster 10% speed, AND set the priority of NO$GBA to highest, AND making sure NO$GBA is the only program you're running, and it still doesn't improve, then there's no settings to 'magically' speed up your computer.

you gota read the entire thread, its already been explained that the current version of no$gba has alot of loading issues.

my advice is get a older version of no$ and you shouldn't have problems loading, thou getting the roms to start is a little trickier with the older versions.

i recommends to have sound on mono instead of none because some roms crash if you dont have sound on and its unpractical to be constantly switching sound settings ingame, video output at 15bit is a little faster than 24, and multiport to none.

You really have to learn to give details......

Which one are you talking about?

You need to run no$gba along with the second one...so it's kind of annoying...everything still happens in no$gba...it just allows you to see a magnified version next to it.

Edit: As for your sound issues. Live with them. Nothing else can be done at this stage. ..... O by the way it sounds as if you are using the regular OpenGL renderer. Download the latest free version (2.6) and try using the nocash renderer on it.

Edit: Just learnt how to load an ingame save

1. Make a copy of your "firmware.bin" file or rename it firmware2.bin
2. Now copy "NO$GBA.INP" and call it "firmware.bin"
3. Start no$gba 2.4a with a rom, change the settings to "Start Cartridge Directly" and have the save type as "FLASH 256kb"
4. Options > Save Options to save the settings. Close the No$Gba2.4a and open it up with a DP rom and now in-game saving should work.
But it will say A communication error has occured if you were in Union Room you will be returned there. And how is the format of entering long codes on AR like Walk through walls?

Hey, I downloaded NO$GBA 2.5 and a Pokemon Pearl Rom from a website I forgot... but, I used it and everything and it says something like cannot read or what ever. Now I know Giving rom links and such are illegal but I am not asking for that. I am just asking is my file corrupt or am I missing something? Also I need the name of the program, if there is one, that speeds up the rom. I remember downloading it like a year ago and it was so slow i deleted it. So any help would be appreciated. So yeah, I just need the name of the programs and instructions on what to do... I mean I am still playing Pokemon Emerald....

Scratch that, i used my brain and switched the save file to flash and now it works at normal speed and it looks beautiful. sorry for the unconvinced. I am a mod for a game called secrets of solstice, and its forum as well as a guild leader, so i understand how frustrating this can be. Anyway, Have a nice day everyone!

Downloaded games will have no support here, refer to our rules, you are on your own. Consider this a warning.

ooo wow a warning from being banned on forum so scared. anyway im asking why it froze it doesnt have to be the rom maybe something with my emulator. Like i might need a bios or something or what ever. I dont want links I want names.

Hey, I downloaded NO$GBA 2.5 and a Pokemon Pearl Rom from a website I forgot...

NGEmu takes a "no tolerance" stance against the trading/sharing/discussion of illegal software, also known as warez. Links to or requests for illegally-obtained commercial material, such as ROMs, ISOs, or BIOS images will not be tolerated. If you post in a forum for support and you are found to be in possession of illegal content, your thread will be immediately closed.

Besides, you are only eligible to use firmware/bios dumped from your own console.

Pokemon Diamond question:

I'm running no$gba 2.6 through Winehelper on my 2.16 ghz Intel Macbook Pro. I'm currently searching the forums for answers to my black screen problem.

I've got the settings right, (512k FLASH), and I think I have all the appropriate firmware (see photo below). However, when I save in game, the file only appears when i reinstall the file menu or exit the program. However, when i re-load, my save is recognized but loads black no matter what. The SAV file itself says it's 524k when I get info. Is that the problem?

::sigh:: any help would be great.

hey all of you!!!
stop talking about no$gba
i too first downloaded it. but its a total waste due to its speed.
but later i found and downloaded the "idea$" software. which has a higher speed than no$gba. "idea$" is also nds emulator. the are 2 differences between "idea$" and "no$gba"
1. the are from different company
2. speed of "idea$" is higher

if u want to download idea$ go to the below link
iDeaS Emulator - Nintendo DS (http://www.ndsemulator.com/nintendo-ds/ideas.htm)
or take the shortcut

how do i save my game in no$gba 2.6a

as far as i know savestates and snapshots doesn't work with nds games, but to save inside the game only press f11 and set up save type to auto and go ahead and save inside the game, but remember to quit the emulator every half an hour cuz theres a nasty random crash with pkmn

Was it a "microphone wave in failure" error? If it was, there's nothing you can do about it (specially because you're playing Pokemon). Just do as Crimson Ghost already said.
