Nice to see bluray is winning. Even though the read time is a little slow, the capacity kicks ass, and that's what I dig.

Its not as slow as you thing mogster :p
Anyway, for me its all about the movies, and as soon as i saw Bluray had more movie releases for February then HD-DVD had for the entire 2007 i made my mind on who would win this :p

The cost of it will go down eventually, like CD-Rs and DVD-Rs did. Remember how much the first DVD burner cost? Just give it time, it'll be more reasonable then :p. Although both formats are great, Blu-Ray is probably the one that'll come out on top. Sony might actually push through one of their original ideas finally, they have the support they need from other electronic giants :p.

keep in mind that while HD-DVD's minimum movie transfer rate is at a total of 36.55Mbps whereas for Blur-ray it is 54Mbps. in other words, Blu-Ray will always have the upper hand for quality, content, and interactivity.

The only thing that make me curious is why Sony didn't allowed pron movie production on BD. So they (the pron studio) choose HD DVD. Another reason, cheaper license fee than BD.

that said, im not sure if porn really has much of a say this generation as they used to. after all, we are living in the age of the internet.
im also curious as to your statement that HD-DVD is cheaper than BD to license. i havent seen the figures myself and wud like for you to back up your claim. i dont think it would reasonably be significantly expensive tho.

Blu-ray edges out HD DVD in February | TG Daily (http://www.tgdaily.com/2007/03/12/bluray_sales_beat_hddvd_feb2007/)
again, BR wins by close to double the numbers.
According to trade magazine Video Business, around 250,000 Blu-ray movies were sold last month. HD DVD sales, on the other hand, totaled 125,000.
During January, Blu-ray received a similar sales edge over HD DVD. Many attributed the advantage to the fact that BD has more studio support and a bigger library of movies, meaning that sales of individual titles were not necessarily greater than HD DVD. However, in the same article, Video Business reported on a format comparison for one movie. The Departed, which was released on both Blu-ray and HD DVD, sold about 20,000 and 13,000 for the two formats, respectively.
and the Ps3 hasnt even been launched in EU yet.

I like the capacity and the video quality/clarity in Blue-ray. A wise person would go with the obvious choice ;) Good job on naming the next-gen hi-def player/disc Sony! I got to say the name Blue-ray sound more pleasant than HD... not to mention the laser is also blue too! :D

uh oh, don't mention that it's from Tom's - Ref will probably think it's some scheme to get people to buy intel and say AMD sucks. He's a fanboy, you know :P
EDIT: funny, blu ray can hold 2x the data, and they made 2x the sales...
Also, Blu-Ray sounds next gen, whereas HD DVD just sounds like a normal DVD that has come out in more recent times...
