- dos: dpmi redirects dos32_int10 to dpmi_interrupt_10h (fixes win98 xgra-crash)
- dos: uses int2fh/1680h under dpmi (not actually supported by cwsdpmi/win98)
- dos: prevents hlt-opcode under dpmi (hlt crashed cwsdpmi, ignored by win98)
- initialize: corrected @@zero_fill_vals length (caused crash in dos version)

Just testing out the new version. It seems with the increase of 3-d support, some games run a-lot smoother for me, 'Jump Ultimate Stars' being the main one out of the ones that i have tested at the moment.
Keep up the good work and i certainly look to the future of this emulator.

Yes Yu-Gi-Oh! GX - Spirit Caller also runs a lot smoother and a few missing graphics have been filled in and false graphics taken out. For instance activating a card is now much smoother and all the blackness that was there is gone, same goes for when a card is destroyed. When doing a duel puzzle, the jumping platforms in the background don't have missing black glitches anymore. As for an example of a false graphic being removed, when you win or lose a duel, there used to be a glitched semi transparent semi black box around "win" or "lose" that is gone now to.
All in all it's much better, but not quite perfect yet although lot's of cards are still missing parts, like for instance La-ginn the mystic genie of the lamp is still missing most of it's chest. Certain blackness glitches also still remain but there seem to be way less.
I still can't take screenshots with my performance PC, and the screenshot produced during the crash is still all blured.
Advance Wars - Dual Strike has also had missing graphics filled in but it's also not perfect yet. When on a map the bottom screen still lags badly...although it might be a little better than before...not sure. Also when selecting a unit, the entire movement area is still blacked out.
Phoenix Wright still has the bad bottom screen lag when opening the court folder. The buttons, which iDeaS can emulate (although it's a very bad idea to use iDeaS for this game as the graphics glitch so badly it's completely unplayable) are still not visible.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour still seems to run just as slow as before, but I don't have the time to test it at the moment to see if it speeds up later or if there are any new graphics.
Sound is still bad/pretty much non-existant.
Eventhough I sound really negative, this a very good new version, and I just wanted to highlight which issues still exist and which have been fixed.
Before anyone takes a shot at me I know I have to be patient and that they may be concentrating on this or that first, before he for instance wants to sort the sound out.
So please no replies pointing this out to me.

For some reason, when ever i use the 'Print screen' button, the emu crashes, but when i use 'Alt + Print Screen' it works fine, and it only pastes what the emulation shows, so no need for cropping the whole image. See if that works for you.
As for Phoenix Wright, i played the 'Justice for All' version, and though there is still a small slowdown when viewing items, i believe that the switching animation has definately improved alot. At least thats what i think on my computer anyway.
I also noticed that the Yu-gi-oh GX Spirit Caller has alot more smoother action, but i didnt really play it that much. Other than those games and the one i listed already, i really couldnt see any more improvements at the moment.
Once again, cant wait till the future when the emulator is fully working, as it will be a big achievement to the developer

Has anyone actually tested microphone support yet
If anyone here is interested in helping (re)test (english) games for the compatibility databases (available on IRC), pm me - thanks

Hrm... Noticeable gains in the speed.
Looks like I'll have to go donate again (...as soon as I can afford it).
Screenshots still crash the emu for me, though. The first five or four screenshots that I took worked just fine - but now it just keeps crashing. I wonder why the first few worked... Bizarre.

That's not surprising at all. If you use Alt+PrtScn, Windows takes a screenshot of the active window. That function has absolutely nothing to do with the emulator - it works for anything.
It's just the internal NO$GBA screenshot-feature (which is mapped to the PntScr-key) that doesn't seem to work quite as intended, for some people.

I know about the active window screenshot application of the PrtScn button, and i was just supplying an alternative way of taking screenshots for SCHUMI-4-EVA for the time being while the no$gba screenshot function doesn't seem to be working.

You have to have a 'firmware.bin' that is downloaded from your real nds to manipulate the touch-screen of the no$gba emulator for most games.

I am currently playing it right now. I will post to see if it is fully playable or what. I will make a new thread for Contact (U) if it is fully playable. I have to play it to the end. Hopefully, it didnt crashes or stuck or any bugs. :)

When I asked earlier if anyone wanted to help test (even just the games they like) for the DS Compatibility Databases, I should've also mentioned that if anyone just wanted to use the databases (available on IRC) then pm me and I'll hook you up
The databases (all english games) are useful for anyone serious about DS emulation, with the right game settings (these have taken the crew a long time to work out and verify), a playability ranking (including whether a game is only partially playable - can not be completed), known problems (including whether the game is just too slow), sometimes a solution to a problem (such as getting past an invisible platform in one game) and more
The databases have been maintained since the start of 2006 (originally for iDeaS) and are constantly being updated by people who have spent literally many 100s of hours testing every english game many times over (with each new emulator and version)

This emulator shadowed the VBA when it was still in development, and now it finally recieving the attention it deserves. I wonder if the developer comes here to check the No$Gba forum since it has its own section now. He would probably get better feedback on such a large forum like this one. I'm really seeing some good progress with DS emulation now. Congrats to the author.
The only things that bother me is the way the interface is setup. It would be great if you can manually load the roms when you want on startup so you can change the save settings before starting the roms and then having to reset the game. Hopefully that will be worked out in future releases amongst a few other things, but that's not that important atm because DS games are working!

I love this Emulator. A few Month ago just a few people knew about its existence. And its a No$GBA Boom now.
I tried a few games yesterday and I have to say that this new version is awesome. Thanks to the Mic I have Much more fun know when playing Phoenix Wright. It is perfect now and the Switch Animations are much better with full speed. Just that people let a part of their clothes behind when they switch :rotflmao:
Traumacenter is not so slow anymore. The startscreen works perfectly and the Startstory is fullspeed. Just in the Op it gets very slow. But at least the 3d Model isn`t missing any parts anymore. I will post a few before after shots tomorrow.
I couldnt get Animal crossing to work. Maybe i forgott something to do.
Did anyone check on Pokemon ranger because of the invisible problem?

It's second only to VBA as far as GBA emulators go.

Actually, before VBALink came about, it was the champion in GBA game linking. :P That and the debugging features in the paid version are just magnificent. This one is more well known to hard-core homebrew developers (and rom hackers when it was No$gb) than VBA. :P (Same thing happened to No$GB and VisualBoy)

You must have the firmware in the root folder of the No$Gba executable in order for the touchscreen to work. That's what made it work for me.

How do you make the DOS version to work? I'm using WINXPSP2 and when I try to load a game it crashes, it says: FATAL ERROR: MEMORY MESSED UP!
I'd setup the memory to auto in the emu properties.
>>>FOR POKEMON GAMERS<<<
For those having the FREEZE problem in the first or whatever battle, just turn on the sound, for some reason it freezes when you kill the poke with the sound OFF, but if you just turn it on the game will load.
PS. Don't stay turning ON/OFF the sound or else the emu will crash.

As mentioned on the authors page, the DOS-version is missing quite a few features (for DS, that is. GBA is just fine). I'd guess that there hasn't been much demand for DOS-support...
SCHUMI_4EVER
March 3rd, 2007, 00:16
Why would there be? Anything that can run DOS game and programs without a compatibility mode or a DOS-emulator is probably to slow to run DS games well anyways.
Also would DirectX, OpenGL and D3D still be supported in DOS?
I don't think so but I could be wrong.

Just load the emulator with the game. click on the bottom middle the little Ds, then search in the next menue for the language settings and when they are changed, reset the emulator with right mouseclick and you have your game in your language.
Look at the small nds icon ? Click this and follow the instruction:
