Pressing the start button to bring up the equip screen takes about 15 seconds to load up. Is there any way to fix it?

it's a common emulation bug. i think it's solved by a cheat code (can't remember though)

Download the 1.6 version of the emulator.It will solve the issue definitively.

Yeah I'm having the same problem with 1964 too but not in Master Quest in the original N64 version. Also I play for a while and then the emu hangs in full screen.
