I just tested it with Advance Wars - Dual Strike, it now displays 95% perfectly, missing menu´s and various other things can now be seen...just somehow the bottom screen is always laggy, If I start a campaign anything happening in the bottom screen is laggy and sounds are slow and it just starts running horribly. It´s a problem which was also in the previous version.
Phoenix Wright still runs the same as before. Whenever I open the court folder to look at evidence or profiles, it becomes horribly laggy in sound as well as animation. Once I close it again though it runs perfectly. No newly visible graphics as far as I can tell, things that were missing before still are.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour still only shows Nintendo and Konami Screens and then stops.

That´s all I had to test.

True, I was just pointing out though considering there is new 3D support...well this 3D rear alpha I thought it might just support a few games a bit better, and Advance Wars does indeed look better, but aside from that I see no change at least among my other games.

Oh yah thats easy, um pick your mouse up and make sure the mouse sensor bearings are working and open your case up on your tower and put your mouse inside it.. then wait for it to talk.

Stop flamming, not everbody knows everything about emulation,
If you have no desire whatsoever to help better shut up , thanks.

When i choose the īupload to gba or ndsī a message explains me that i need to be loged with a SeLoadDriverPrivilege, which obviously i donīt have since it doesnīt works.

Megaman Battle Network 5: Double Team (USA) - Playable and everything is fine expect Rockman's body is some still missing and in the map is glitches and flash a little bit. You will need to use Allow 3D Rear Alpha to see the map! It's just starting! :)

Tennis no Ouji-Sama 2005 - Crystal Drive (JAPAN) - Playable, and slow and you need Allow 3D Rear Alpha.

Contact (USA) - Playable but slow and you need to set FLASH 256k.

Bokura no Taiyou - Django and Sabata (J) - Ingame then freezed.

Kirby Squeak Squad (U) - Playable but a little bit slow.

Alots of games are being increase. NEAT!

??? I was negative ???

All I basically said is, I was right.

You need a new translator (I assume you are using one? English does not seem to be your first language)

RockmanForte
January 22nd, 2007, 20:26
Umm... Wrong answer. :)

The english is my first language. I think there is some merit to the grammar-nazi approach; it keeps people from being lazy about grammar. In my opinion, being casual about grammar is fine. Being lazy about it is not. I might be one of them, heh. Really, it doesn't matter to me as long as I know my grammar then that's fine. See ? My real sentence! :D

EDIT: Non-Grammar and Grammar. Why I do this ? Dont ask me why! :)

Now, enough about this. Get back to no$gba discussion, ok ? ;)

DarknessTear
January 22nd, 2007, 20:33
Holy ****, if English is your first language you type it worse than the foreigners I know do.

RockmanForte
January 22nd, 2007, 20:34
Hey, be nice! What is wrong with my english ?

Excuse me but this is about no$gba thread, ok ? Thank you. I am here in peace, that's all.

SCHUMI_4EVER
January 22nd, 2007, 21:31
Sorry it's just your english is very err jumbled...words are thrown in which are not neccessary...sentences seem backward and jumbled.
Also you were not able to understand fully what I said...I assume no one else perceived that as negative?
I know some people on online games and their english is similar to yours but they are actually french and using a translator.

Sorry I don't mean to offend, I am just being honest.

Also yeah this thread is about no$GBA, but what we were talking about is something which arose as part of the thread so if I was moderator I would see no problem with what we are doing as long as we get back to this thread's original purpose somewhere within the next few posts.

SCHUMI_4EVER

The memory type was automatic with the previous version. In this version you however have to set the memory type in emulation setup. Experiment on the different options to see which one works (like Flash512Mbit etc.)

I noticed in World 1-3: Mario's Fleet Feet

Yoshi's Island DS -- In this room, make eggs out of the Shy Guys that spawn endlessly from the pipe, then shoot through the yellow wall to the right. Go through the opening and aim upward to shoot down a ball you can bounce on. Bounce to the upper ledge, then jump to the left platform where you can hit a few M blocks to obtain four stars if you want.

But when I shoot egg through the yellow wall for the ball to fallen down and it won't. Is this bug ? Please test it and let me know so I can report to the no$gba team because I contacted them few time. They are very great people and friendly. Help me so I can report it to them if you have the same problem as mine. :);)

You will need firmware.bin --- why ?

Q: My game, above ROM 500, gives me a black screen and stucks the emulator, how to proceed?

A: By our very own diablow...

You'll need the firmware.bin. After you copy it to no$gba folder (the same place where bioses reside), select "Reset/Startup Entrypoint" in Emulation Setup, save setup. Restart game, or even better - close and start no$gba again, now after selecting nds file, it will go to nds menu.

Hey rockmangames when you say something is fully playable do that mean you experience no slow down on the bottom screen?

Because Phoenix Wright only has a few missing graphics here and there, but otherwise it's fine. Unless you click on court record and look at the evidence...then the bottom screen lags badly. Pretty much the same thing for Advance Wars, the map lags.

So this does not happen in those games you have mentioned?

I doubt it's my PC creating the lag, cuz eventhough it's a year old it was close to the best you could get at that time, and I can run FEAR very decently (100+ fps) so I doubt some emulator will give me lag.

I guess it's bug in the emulator and I will have to wait patiently untill it's fixed.

RockmanForte
January 25th, 2007, 01:12
You are right but the reason I said it is fully playable because there is no freeze or crash at all. I guess we will have to wait patiently until it's fixed. I am sure it can be resolve at version 2.4. Who knows. :)

SCHUMI_4EVER
January 25th, 2007, 11:33
Yeah that would be awesome ! I could then at least play Phoenix Wright.

I wonder who can get 3D emulation done(as in complete, no alpha or beta) first...this or DeSmuME or iDeaS..o well ill just have to wait and see, it would be awesome if they could all get compatibilty up enough to at least make Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour and maybe even the new Yu-Gi-Oh! GX - Spirit Caller run by July though.

Now before anyone criticises me, I know that I have to be patient and that they are all working hard, but I can hope/wish can't I? I am not demanding they get it done by then...just hoping...the longer it takes the more outdated the cards get so I would like to play it soon but at the same time I understand that it may only be compatible next year sometime or even later.

I wonder who can get 3D emulation done(as in complete, no alpha or beta) first...this or DeSmuME or iDeaS.

iDeaS was the first emulator that emulated 3D, kinda then no$gba. Desmume is the last one that didnt emulated 3D yet.

Guys, i cant touch screen with mouse, whats wrong???:(

Do you have firmware ? If not, then you need this!

SCHUMI_4EVER
January 25th, 2007, 16:32
That's not entirely true, from the screenshots one can see on shash's blog, he has done quite a bit of 3D work, just it's his own work, not part of the emulator yet and probably will not be anytime soon. But his work is just awesome im pretty sure once it's implemented at least if that will happen sometime this year, then DeSmuME will quickely jump to the front in compatibilty.

RockmanForte
January 25th, 2007, 16:59
No, I mean desmume that emulated 3D from Shash is not out...yet. For now, this desmume we are having is not emulated 3-D at all. iDeaS was the first that released to us that already emulated 3-D partially. :)

SCHUMI_4EVER

That's true, but that does not mean that DeSmuME, might not be the first emulator to fully emulate 3D, in other words allow all games to be compatible.

At the moment no$GBA and iDeaS have the lead, but that could change at any time. At the moment they are switching the lead with each new version. iDeaS had it, but now no$GBA has it thanks to this version.

Anything with two extensions will not work, that's a basic file property.

Just change the name to firmware and it should be fine. I think it already has the .bin extension. It looks like your burning program has been associated with .bin files, that's why you can't see the extension in this case.

You're welcome. Do not save the set up. It have a problem so wait for the next version. Just put flash 256 in the nds cartridge backup media. There is a trick. Just click ok and click Reset cartridge and it will read your cartridge backup media. If you want to change to other nds file then do the same thing..put any cartrdige backup and click ok and click reset cartridge again and that's simple. Just don't save the set up. SCHUMI_4EVER
January 26th, 2007, 20:21
Well it's not neccessarily unknown...it's just not fully understood...like only 80% which makes emulation very hard especially 3D for instance or WiFi.
If one understands how a system works it's easily to emulate, however if one does not then it's near impossible.
The DS is not fully inderstood yet.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX - Spirit Caller (U) :thumb: :D
- FULLY PLAYABLE (sound buggy and pretty much inaudible and it runs slow)
I think it was FLASH512kbytes
3D Rear Alpha is of course enabled.

As far as I can tell that is. I see no missing graphics, and have not yet encountered any crashes or unplayable glitches. I admit though I have not played too much, only got through the intro and then had 1 duel with Syrus all in all about half an hours gameplay (because it runs so slow). I do however know I can save ingame and then load that save by resetting the cartridge. The graphics are a little buggy (which may come from the speed it runs at), but not enough to mess up game play in any way. Aside from speed and sound buggyness, this game works beautifully from what I have seen.

I promptly tried out the older Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour (U) which I had already tried, but I might have made a mistake so I tried again...but strangely enough this does not work...older game does not work, newer one does...that's a bit strange but o well.

Ok, nobody helped you I guess.

Here it is:

1. Do you have firmware.bin ? Change it to GBABIOS. It will read NDS firmware.bin anyway. Take a look at this:

http://i18.tinypic.com/2q1a22s.jpg

Click Ok then click Options>Save Options>File>Reset Cartridge

Now, click small logo of nds on the bottom of the screen. Here is the screenshot:

http://i7.tinypic.com/453fl74.jpg

Now, click something that look like a tool then the icon that look like a world and click it and click ENGLISH and click A Confirm -- screenshot here:

http://i19.tinypic.com/33cyts3.jpg
http://i7.tinypic.com/33fgbbk.jpg

Now, there is a trick. Use your mouse and click right button and click RESET. No, you cannot save this setting because you will have to do it every time. Mine is english firmware only. I assume that your firmware is in japan. So you can change it to any languages. ENJOY!

0820 - Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - Justice For All (U)(XPA)

Status: Fully playable and save (EEPROM 64k).

Review: Displays almost all graphics perfectly, with very few glitches when switching sprites. The only two issues I can find is speed (it normally runs at 80%-90%) and the bottom screen does not display pictures when you check them in your evidence menu. Still fully playable, though, as I'm now at the last court case in the game.

However, a certain unfortunate problem I had just after writing this paragraph was when I tried to take a screenshot, no$gba crashed and apperantly my last save didn't really save. It just saved at the last court case I completed. Still, though, that's the only time I've had a problem.

SCHUMI_4EVER

The first one gives me horrible lag on the court folder when I try to look at evidence. Dont't you get that? or are you playing the second one where that no longer happens?

dooz
February 2nd, 2007, 20:22
This is the second game, and the game does lag a bit when looking at evidence (It gets speeds of around 50%-70%). It's displaying many large sprites at the same time, so that's pretty much to be expected at this point.

There are no .ini files or configs inside the directory, or the subfolders NO$GBA made. I also noticed that every time I try to encrypt thefiles, notepad windows come up. keep closing out PatchEngine .dat, .da1, etc before it completes as a "successful" encryption. Is Vista Ultimate doing something with these files?

SCHUMI_4EVER
February 11th, 2007, 21:57
Hmm take one rom and eNDryptS (rather re-unzip it to the new folder than copy/paste as you may forget to copy a file)to another folder. Use eNDryptS on the rom and try it on the rom (Make sure that you are linking to the new changed rom and not the old one you have tried in the past). Then try and run the rom. If it crashes use eNDryptS on the same rom again and try it again.
It should work either the first or second time you do it without crashing and then you can change settings...that's the way we did...or I at least.

Hmm you may have something there Yulina_SL the possible problem with eNDryptS is that it's a DOS program...so maybe you can't run it in Vista? I have XP and only the program window (well DOS window) comes up not notebad or something else.

Erm u 2 schumi erm is there any way to fix the game speed ?its kinda slow

SCHUMI_4EVER
February 11th, 2007, 23:41
Well turn sound off and to the lowest quality. Change burst-delays to fast/fast. Change the display settings to VGA poppy bright. Also change the speed to Unlimited Mhz Disaster 10%.

Not sure if all of those actually increase speed, but those are my settings.
I get decent speeds, not perfect but most definately decent.
Then again my PC is a gaming PC, a year old one...but still a gaming PC. 1GB RAM and a AMD Athlon 64 3700+ and a Radeon X850XT so it does still deliver more power than the average home computer.

I did not mean the emulator can't work on Vista...I meant eNDryptS can't, because it's a dos program. Windows 2000 aint the biggest friend of DOS either by the way.
So what you should be doing is exacty as I told your earlier, move one rom to a new folder, re-unzip eNDryptS etc. etc.
I don't want to retype everything just do the same as I told you in that post a few hours ago.

If done correctly it will work. If eNDryptS once again brings up notepad or something else then I guess windows 2000 also won't work with it.

I finally got NO$GBA to respond properly! Only two problems (images included)
What say you? oO

The only game I am trying to test out is Pokemon Diamond. Right now, it's the only reason I'm picking up my DS again. It seems to respond a lot better on my XP Home. Good ting I didn't load Vista Premium on that computer, too! :D

You need to set the memory in your settings. Not sure what the correct one is though.
This is not neccessarily an irrelevant thread if some people still have and are trying to use 2.3b. I still have mine.

I see! I changed it to 64KB something. It seems to work better now. Hellish slow outside, but almost fine inside, even on high priority for the task.

If the current rate is any indicator, this emu probably will improve quite a bit by the time that the english version of Pokemon is released. Not that I personally care about Pokemon, but I suspect that you'll probably be able to play it at faster speed then.

RockmanForte
February 13th, 2007, 04:10
Calm down. 3D Rear Alpha is already in this next build 2.3c so you no longer need to enable it because it is permanent enable. solar darkness and light is something I am not sure about..maybe it is something to do with botaki games, I think.

Pokemon pearl works after the black screen, you have to wait like 3-5 min and ull see press start afterwards, wait another few minutes and you will see the professor then u can play in the game, but u cannot play very well because your character moves slow like a turtle...When will it be able to run at normal speed?

BZZZT! Wrong answer. The developer will not like your answer. Enjoy this emulator and let them do the rest for updates in the near future. There are nothing you can do about it for now.

Yeah, you are right, but rockman isn't posting since your patetic "battle" with him and his english, that wasn't the first time you did it and you should apologize for keeping this opinion instead of stay quiet.
SCHUMI-4-EVA, you should be happy, now you are on the place you want to be since the beginning, you are where he was, but you could be there without take him off, just like he did.
Rockman, come back. People needs your help. :thumb:

I never meant to do anything to rockmangames.

I don't even know how it became such a huge argument, I asked a simple question and he got offended and whole argument arose somehow.
I corrected him because I thought he was being silly by not wanting to awnser my simple question which annoyed me at the time.
Since then I have appologised and I was under the impression that we were both over it by now, not just me.

Do you really think a guy who's first language is german, uses chatspeak when typing 80% of the time and makes more typos than should be humanly possible can have an arrogant attitude about english?

He has removed his posts so considering you can't see where I might have been coming from, don't prejudge me.

Ok, I just said what I think.
But it's already gone, let the past be the past and start again, sry if I was rude, but I was here since the beggining, when you start posting in this forum and saw everything, rockman really got offended 'cause that wasn't the first time. But it's ok.
Like you said, you were both over it.
And if someone will try to keep this alive, that person won't be me. ;)
Ok?! Can we just go back helping people and let people help us now?
