having a slight problem with r type final on pcsx (works on pcsx 0.9.1 slowly but not at all 0.9.2)

at first it wouldnt work and was getting stuck in a loop at the "fresh games" logo, so i followed the patch guide and made a patch for it

with this patch the game gets to the menu and will run pretty much without glitches from there on,

everything seemed fine, at the start of the first level it seems to be running at normal speed, by the time i gain control of my ship the games is slugged down as if it was running in slow motion with occasional skipping and a bit of input interruption (holding down button to charge wave cannon, but then it fires off before i have released the button, and sometimes i have to press buttons more than once to get any response) occasional sound skipping, very rare hardly noticable

Windows xp pro
ntel pentium 4 3.6ghz dual core with ht technology
1gb ram
nvidia bfg geforce 6600 gt oc 128mb pcie
directx 9.0c

here are my pcsx2 cpu/graphics/sound/controller setup:
Bios: Europe
Graphics: ZeroGS KOSMOS 0.96.0
Sound: P.E.Op.S SPU2 DSound Driver 1.4.0
Controller: SSSPSX PAD Plugin 1.7.0

as i say, it works on pcsx 0.9.1 (but very sluggish with a few problems) but on pcsx 0.9.2 it doesnt run at all, im simply given a black screen

is anyone else having similar problems to me?..has anyone else got r type final working ok?..

ive tried to provide as much relevant information as possible, if anyone has any ideas how to improve the performance that would be great ;P

the only thing I know that might be slightly related is that it has enormous framedrops on a real ps2.... however, it controls correctly on that, of course....

managed to fix the controls sticking, i used the padwinkeyb instead and that seems to do the trick

its strange, sometimes the fps count is displaying an "ok" rate like 40-45 but the game is just being slow
for all i know this fps count could be slow for this particular game, i know other games run fine at this fps, it usually runs ok for a little while at the start of a level then progressively slows down during the first minute or so

but ive beared with it and managed to complete a whole 3 levels of the game! now thats progress :D

I'm glad it's playable :)

The game throws a lot at the PS2 anyways, There's one city level where the screen turns and shows a part of the street or something (it's been a while since I played) and it's slowing down enormously right there on a PS2....
