i'm wondering how much fps we got in PCSX2 with an extreme overclocked Core2Extreme @5GHZ or similar.
ok this example is crazy :D
but it should work,
somebody tried that with an extreme overclocked conroe?

I've tried and got 200+ fps in FFX (AA+BF) with 5 GHz conroe...

Well a 5GHz Conroe would run above 200 fps quite a lot of the time in FFX but seriously 5GHz requires LN2 and at least an E6600 it seems but X6800 reach 5GHz quite a lot easier and that's only used for benchmark sessions as it's very expensive and you run short of it after some mins - 1hr depending how much you got of it. OK, there's a few exceptions that has reached 5GHz without LN2 but is not stable enough for PCSX2.
~4.5GHz on phase change cooling is possible tho but who's got a phase change cooled Conroe cpu + ps2 and interested in emulation and PCSX2. The chance isn't that high. :D
I think a 4.5GHz Conroe could probably run any game at very playable speeds or full speed that works as already ~3.5GHz provide amazing speeds in most games. :D

hm - reaches full speed for
Resident Evil Code Veronica
Kingdom Hearts
Final Fantasy X
with the system in my sig.
i think with 4,5 ghz u can play resident evil 4 at full speed (at 50 hz - pal)
btw. - the core 2 extrem does'nt have so much overclocking potential like the E6400 and E6300 allendale or the E6600 conroe
