Since I cannot get my FFXII to work properly, perhaps trying different configs of different people might help. I already tried pretty much everything with the kosmos and the gsdx9, but it doesn't help.
Edit: Could you add how well the game runs? Movies/ingame graphics, can you see everything or not, blocky/stuttering graphics, etc... Thanks.

My gear:
AMD 4400+ X2 Dual core
GeForce 7800 GT 256 MB
Kingston 2x1 GB RAM

My settings:
Video: Kosmos 0.96.0, everything off, 1024x768. Tried diff settings,
Audio: Peops SPU2 1.61.0, all 0, cept volume on 2.
Controls: Padwinkeyb Driver 0.9.0
The rest is on default.

I use the same setup for every game (other than a few titles which require certain plugins / option enabled)

Kosmos 0.96.0, AAX4, BF (If the games engine doesnt slow to a creep)
Audio: Peops SPU2 1.61.0, interpolation enabled and irq enabled.

All I do is change the video settings (AA / BF) to suite the game im playing. So in the case of FFXII, I get a drop in speed if I use AAX4 so I play the game on AAX2 no BF.

emwarz, a little question: can you run ffx-2 like ffx? or ffx-2 is a lot less "playable" than ffx?, i can run ff-x decently, some crashes eventually but nothing serious, and movies with al off are "seeable" .... so, tell me plz if you can run ffx-2 with no "criticals" problems.

thx.

Artemix, how long do you usually play on pcsx2? Pcsx2 0.92.0 is a step closer to completion :D so most crashing is very minimum or rare (at least in FFX and FFX-2 XD) Btw, i don't spend more than an hour on any game. I'm just testing it and messing with it to find the lowest and hightest fps =P

@Artemix, the only problem I have with FFX-2 is the blue screens in battle (which is a known problem) other than that it runs fairly well.

@emwearz and... that blue screen, happens all the time?

@tuanming ... mmm this afternoon I've played FFX around 2 hs, with no major problems, why do you ask?

@emwearz and what about Grandia III? it's playable? like FFX, FFX-2? i saw this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=5c1Wr29wNgY) video on youtube.... looks awesome... but, what is the real speed and rig?

I have the exact same problem he does, and he has some screens to show for.

Read the answer I gave to him, the same applies to you.

I'm asuming your either writing this answer now, or you're confused about what this is about...

His answer was to use the VM version of PCSX2.
As mentioned previously characters do not show up in pcsx2t.exe (TLB version).
I've used PCSX2 to play FFXII for quite a while, already very far into the game.
Tons of crashes, and dialog texts usually do not show up unless you tilt the angle in certain ways... But! I generally get good speed (50-ish) and all the crashes so far has been passable after trying multiple times.

As for which plugins to use... They simply don't matter:
ZeroGS because it's fast (res at 640x<something>).
E(something) ISO CDVD plugin
TwinPad to play on keyboard
Rest is the same as you.

It's listed as "playable" but it's not quite as stable as FFX for example. I had to use TLB build to get past the videos in beginning for example. Otherwise it works fairly good now it seems. The speed you see in the video is the actual speed I'm getting (when limiting it to full speed 60 fps). :) As for speed comparision, FFX runs like 45 - 170 (~80 avg) fps, Grandia III like 30 - 100 (55~60 avg) fps for me.

I added a bit more to my reply in that other thread (http://forums.ngemu.com/pcsx2-official-forum/82590-ff12-graphics-issues.html).

Maybe it would be better in a new topic, but the VM version of PCSX2 just refuses to start up for me. The screenshot of what happens when it crashes is in the other thread.

Strangely I only get 20-30 FPS with 0x AA and no BF, even falls under 18 fps with more intense graphics. I got a good comp, should easily be handle to get 20-30 FPS with 4x AA and BF ON.. Huge difference in graphics beteween 0x AA and 2/4x AA. Speed drops dramaticly, but graphics are a ton times more detailed.
I do use 1024x768 res, I guess ill try a lower res next time... maybe put up some AA and still get good FPS. Anything else anyone knows of to boost the FPS?

how to fix this graphics issue?

You need the VM version of pcsx2 to play FFXII (The characters dont appear the TLB version) Make sure you have Windows XP (home or pro) with Service Pack 2 in order to use the VM version and have lock pages in memory enabled.

Also use the SSE2 version of ZeroGS as your cpu supports it.

- The menu's are always like that you can just click X to get through them or look at it on your PS2 to see whats where.

5 chars... lol
