Well, to be blunt, your computer (Particularly your processor) is too slow to play any of these 3 games even at half speed. So I suggest upgrading your computer before trying these kinds of games.

Pentium D is a dualcore processor.
you can enable MTGS&DC for speedup.
and use ZeroGS 0.96.0 for the most 3D Games, its faster than GSDX9

hi jerzz,
is ur PC laptop?
to run FFX smoothly, u 'll need a high speed CPU (at least Duo Core) and moderate high GPU (Geforce 7600) ;)
if not, u'll only get 20-40 FPS around

Im getting 30-70FPS, is it considered the max capabilities of the specs??
CPU : AMD X2 3600 (OC 2.4GHz)
RAM : 1GB DDR2 4200
VGA : Asus 7300GT 128MB DDR3

Manufestu, yep, probably so, what game are you getting that speed?
If it's something like Final Fantasy X, then it is, if it's only something like Marvel VS Capcom 2, then there's a slight more need to tweaking. :)

Hello everybody!
I'm new here.
Please, send comm about my PC specs.
AMD Sempron 64 3000+, 512MB RAM(DDR400)(will be added more 1GB this month), GF6200 256MB AGP8X.
I was running Saint Seiya - HADES and get something about 20-25 FPS but i've realized that the ingame is not possible for this one because some grafics not appear(let's wait for another release to see if it will be fixed). If you want, I can send some screen captures.
Thanks for now!

I wanna play FFX with 'acceptable' speed.

With your pc you should get descent fps darkYojimbo.Nice CPU with a nice GPU i think a little bit more RAM is needed but thats not a problem with these specs you should get about 30-40 fps in FFX.If you use Zero gs disable all the filtering and use all of the recompilers and the sound settings to fastest it shouldn`t be a problem 35-40 is an acceptable speed.
Manufestu
December 16th, 2006, 08:36
@StriderVM
Yup, that's the speed I got from FFX.
For FF XII, getting around 30-45FPS. I have yet to try other games yet. :)

i think u should try to upgrade your PC from 32 bit to 64 bit:)
don't try to upgrade your graphic card on your old PC (32 bit)
'cuz i 've tried that before :D
it is more expensive in AGP version than PCI-E (that's cost me about $190)

what is the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit?
u r telling me that my pc is 32 bit, huh?
could u give me some example of that 64 bit chip..?
and also, can u tell me the total cost needed to upgrade my pc
until it achieves the specification needed by the emulator?

sora_kh2 :
If you are asking which computer parts you need in order to get maximum speed out of all PS2 games using PCSX2, sadly no, even the fastest video card as well as the fastest processor will not make every game run at full speed.
As for the 64-Bit question, most modern processors support 64bit, to use 64bit, you need a processor as well as an operating system that supports 64bit operations. But lastly, PCSX2 does not take advantage of 64bit yet.

Pretty much the exact same set up as mine, just overclock it to 2.3 and you will find most things run nicely.

It looks fine to me. It doesn't really matter if you get an Nvidia or an ATI, they are both good. I am somewhat partial to ATI, but whatever's in your budget will do.

RE4 needs a better gfx card than that but for the FF games it will run fine perhaps not with AA4x and bilinear filtering enabling of course.

I would say no it's about same as 7600GT in performance and that only seems to provide about 15 FPS avg in RE4. But you may wanna consider if it's worth buying a better gfx card only to be able to play one game more on PCSX2. At least I can say 7900GS is enough and it costs around ~170€ in europe atm.

ok i want to kno if i can run some games with these spec on my pc
Processer : Pentium 4 , 2.4ghz
Ram : 512 mb
Gfx : GeForce 5200 (128mb)
i've tried street fighter ex3 and i go in game and all just slow fps .. wat might i need hardware wise to increase fps ..? ram or a better gfx card .. or both?
Thief^

Mike: Better everything, the gfx card is pretty awful (all the original 5xxx were awful, 5950 was decent but not really "top-of-the-range") the cpu is far too slow for pcsx2 (need a dual-core at least, core2 duo recommended) and 512MB ram is a little low for demanding programs and games (like pcsx2), 1GB recommended.
Mikenice182
December 21st, 2006, 15:48
ok dual core is recomended .. but lets say i upgrade my ram to like 1gb or 1.5gb and get a 512mb gfx .. will it be possible to rune pcsx2

Seriously though, extra ram help EVERYTHING. anything to stop page file usage, will help. I usually have a 1.5 gig minimum.

As PCSX2 uses 250-300MB and clean XP instalation uses 140-200MB (from which 100MB is paged anyway) 512MB is enough. and VM version allocates mostly physical memory (no page file).

The key word there is "clean". Most pc's of people who didn't build it themself (and a lot of systems of people who did) are full of stuff eating ram, including huge virus scanners (norton's great for eating system ram and cpu time and thrashing the hard-disk). Then again, I've seen pre-built XP computers only weeks old with 256MB of ram and 260MB in use already before running anything that doesn't auto-start...
Basically, if you have 1GB of ram you shouldn't have to worry about making sure you have a clean machine. It's also a must if you want to turn up the options to full in any new pc games.

The XP with SP2 takes about 240mb of physical ram.And add to that the autorun programs and the PCSX2 takes not more than 200mb of ram.512 should be enoughf but if you have a norton antivirus or a kaspersky or panda you should be looking for 768ram.
