Kingdom Hearts is known be one of the better running games. My P4@3Ghz gets about ~20-25fps average in FFX which is also pretty good for a single-core CPU. However, it doesn't really make sense to compare computers too much yet since even the newest Core 2 can't play RE4 at full speed. There's no point in spending money on a computer to PCSX2 right now. In a year or two the next-gen computers will probably be able to play PCSX2 quite comfortably, so you might as well keep using your PS2 while you wait ;)

Kingdom hearts ran at speeds like that on my old OC'ed Athlon XP, as the tlb ran faster. Also your in one of the fastest areas of the game.

In a similar area in Kingdom Hearts, I achieved the speed in attached screenshot. Note, the first battle with the big heartless, I was doing nearly 100 FPS at times. As for FFX, here's an intro shot of it as well. Trust me, P4 cannot keep up with today's tech.;) Keep in mind, this is while using a crummy GeForce 6200 on AGP.
