That's strange my E6300 is clocked at 2.45GHz and yet i have faster fps than yours E6700. What's your motherboard and rams model?

It's a bit slow for a 2.66GHz Conroe, something like 50 - 110 fps is what is had expected in the opening, possibly a bit more. tuanming seems to get optimal speed with his rig I see tho, should be about same speed as me and looks to be like that too. You've got 4MB l2 cache too and tuanming only got the 2MB L2 cache version so you should definitely have noticable better speed than tuanming and since you got a better gfx card too so that's not the issue at least.

same fps as yours.
~80 fps on the first scene, then it go's down to ~45 when i can see all characters.
my mobo is a ASUS P5W DH Deluxe, rams are 2GB DDR2 800, CL5-5-5-12 from Corsair.

I've got a E6600 at stock speed and im using frame limit. Most of the intro was running at 60 and the lowest it goes is 40, when you see zanarkand far away in the background. In any case, most of the game (completed it today :D) ran at 50-60 (still with frame limit on) with the slowest around 30, in very heavy scenes.

Mihen Highroad :dead:
ok i try the US version, maybe its faster than the PAL -.-

actually no, US run full speed at 60 fps and pal full speed is 50. All its gonna do is appear slower.

I don't think Pal games matter anymore...just look at FFX FPS -.-

47 FPS on the bridge of the celsius in FFX-2, and cpu is overclocked to 3.50ghz
maybe it about my windows XP home? should i try 64bit edition?
overclocking the CPU from 2.66 to 3.50 ghz change Nothing.
maybe 5fps but not more -.-

47 fps on FFX-2 Celsius bridge? Show me the pic and i'll compare. Anyway, if i could do a 2.66GHz (which i can't due to my rams...) I'm very positive that i can pull off 5-15 fps! that mean 85 - 95 fps in the intro to FFX ;D

here:
its too slow for my cpu i know -.-
i think XP home is braking the cpu out. can that be?

You can either get higher fps or a little bit slower fps depending on where the characters place/located.
NexXxus
December 10th, 2006, 02:05
right.
but why is it the same fps when i overclock to 3.50ghz?
i saw a screen from from rpgwizard, he gots 70 fps on this place with his Opteron 165 @2.8 ghz
tuanming
December 10th, 2006, 02:14
wow, a 3.5GHz and still same? Now that's a mystery! I dunno but when in fighting mode my fps stay on the high 70's. 3D magic spell like nova or similar spell can go over 100 fps.

yep battles and aeon summon scenes are fast.
i set up a 30% overclocking profile from my bios.
it overclocks the cpu to ~3,48, PCSX2 shows more than that. 3,52ghz or so.

well, at the same spot of the celsius bridge, i get 42 fps.

you get 32fps with a 6600?
i got 32fps with my old AMD X2 4800+ at stockspeed :D
i don't get it -.-
everyone told that the conroes are the best CPUs for pcsx2. all empty promises.....

You should get more, i get 30-40 on my system. It must be a bottleneck, maybe system bus. Is there a divider being set low when you overclock?

Have you tried changing video card settings?
Maybe it could help. Like, disabling V-Sync and such.

vsync is disabled.
the FFX Opening jumps between 78 and 85 FPS at stockspeed.
I have to read a good OC guide tomorrow.

yes, the "old tired windows" could be a reason :D
have seen by myself - my friend reinstalled windows and PCSX2 began to work faster!

I think your problem is you have multi threaded and dual core mode on I found that to be a problem on my system.
Try setting yours to only dual core mode that helps my system a lot.

Yea look in bios for a setting called virtualization I think. Some applications doesn't like that mode.

I think you mean hyperthreaded. Multi-threaded is a property of a program, not a cpu.

i had this problem too ... a while ago ...
the fps drops to 35 from 54 when ffx hack is turned on (where there shouldn't be any fps drop when the CPU is the bottle neck) ...
for mine the the PCIex bus speed was the problem, it was 1x (PCI Express 16x @ 1) it happens when i set graphic robust to auto and PCIex frequency to 115 mhz
hmm ... there should be something wrong, either with PCIex bus or the grapchic card

Actually YES!. The PAL conversion of FFX runs 1/6 slower than the original NTSC (Yes on your PS2). Just the audio has been resynced.
NexXxus
December 10th, 2006, 23:06
don't understand that wrong, i don't want to play a PAL game above 50 fps..
but its ok when the game runs everywhere with fullspeed.
But its NOT okay when the game runs at 25 fps, on Mi'hen Highroad for example
edit:
oookay :
i have to try 3.8ghz
sadly, re4 runs so fast but i can't see the scenery -.-
