Whenever I try to load a game I get this error message:
http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/1017/errorxi8.th.jpg (http://img169.imageshack.us/my.php?image=errorxi8.jpg)

Also, using the GPU plugin my cpu only goes up to 36% MAX. It's usually hovering around 25%. Does this mean my computer can do better and the gpu plugin isn't good enough?

It seems ZeroGS will not work for you,but post your cpu and gfx card info to be sure.
If you mean when using GSdx9 the CPU% goes up to those numbers, that is only the cpu used by the gfx plugin not by the whole emulator. You can press clt+alt+delete and see the actual cpu load from the task manager windows has

Post your computer specs.

edit: quick fingers bositman ;)

CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz
CPU Speed: 2.79 GHz
System RAM: 1014.1 MB
Video Card: Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family (Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset)

I checked with the task manager, it's goes up to 57%.

Your graphics card sux big time. You cannot use ZeroGS with that card, you must use GSdx9 and configure it to use the highest available pixel shaders (probably 1.4).

I figured it was that. I already have GSdx9 with Pixel Shaders 2.0 but I can't get more than 22-25 FPS in Kingdom Hearts and 10 during FMV's.
Would getting a better graphics card help the speed?

perhaps upgrading ur graphic card will help u.
but u need agp card which means old alittle and cost more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
try ati radeon x1950 pro 256mb agp or 7800gs.

So are my other specs good and the graphics card is the only thing holding me back? If so, I'll gladly get a better one. Do I have to worry about compatibility with my PC? What's the best graphics card I can get?

It's whats holding you back now. If you upgrade it your CPU will become the bottleneck.. in short, no, it's not worth replacing only your GPU for this.

If You buy GF7600 it'll help You a lot and doesn't cost that much (If You're not going to upgrade that whole thing soon) no reason to buy top gfx into middle-end PC.

With your CPU the highest card you can use before the CPU becomes the bottleneck is approximately a Radeon 9800 Pro. Anything better would be a waste of money in that rig.

My suggestion is to save your money for a few months and update the whole thing.

hmm, I had Celeron D @3.6 and 9800pro and 9800pro was bottleneck most of the time. (now I'm not talking about PCSX2)

Upgrading the whole thing is something I can't do right now. I just got this computer a few months ago out of necessity and I'm paying for college so I can't afford to pay 1000+. If I get the 9800pro or similar(something that's efficient for this computer) would I able to play games with this emulator at 50 - 60fps?
I checked my specs over here:
System Requirements Lab (http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srl)
and it's always just the graphics card that's not enough.

Also, it says this about my speed:
You Have: 2.79 GHz Performance Rated at 4.19 GHz

What does that mean? "2.79 GHz Rated at 4.19 GHz "?

Is the OS important for this? I have Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (Build 2600).

No. Not even 2D games will run at 50+ fps on that rig no matter what you try. Even if your motherboard is capable of using the best Pentium 4 (3.6ghz?) and you had an Nvidia 7600+ you would still not be able to play anything except 2D games at full speed.

Please don't compare PCSX2 with PC games, they are not at all the same thing. PCSX2 emulates an entire hardware platform, it's requirements are still higher than even the best rig money can buy today.

For the time being, a PS2 is still the cheapest way to play PS2 games.

Ok, I'll just use my PS2 and hopefully the PS2 emulator will get better in the future (by then I'll have a new PC anyway).
