Gekko will be released? I'm Tired of trying to play games on Dolphin and getting 3 fps actually in game with a new comp. Also wondering... would higher gfx cards boost fps?

No. They will announce it, be patient ;)

You know... your messages are always incredibly short and the same... "just only wait and see"... Ive seen that message like 4 times or "be patient and see"...... I mean say something else once in a while...

and what do you want to see? You are asking for releases dates that at the moment are unknown, only because you can't wait. Also, if you send an email to the Gekko authors asking the release date, your message will be ignored ;)

JKKDark is right on this one. A question that has no answer deserves a short and right to the point response. You see these "short" responses like this because there are so many other impatient people. Emulator authors never really know when the next version will be released, so its impossible to announce one. Imagine if they tried to estimate when they would release the next version, saying something like "you'll probably see a release on x month." When that month came around, people like you would start bugging everyday when the emulator was coming out...and that can get kind of annoying. And heaven forbid the emulator wouldn't come out on x month like an author tried to predict, a whole community of people who start to whine everyday, some possibly saying it was canceled... people panic, bombs start going off...and its the end of the world as we...err.. See, there's just no way to know when it will come out, not even the author knows I'm sure, so why would anyone else know?

Nice defending... but it wasn't a vicious attack on the peeps making Gekko, nor was it an impatient... Just a curious question and I half expected maybe a general answer like "spring 2007" or "summer 2007" or something along those lines... I just need a general guideline so I know when I NEED to upgrade my graphics card so I stop putting it off. Instead it was a vicious attack on JKKDARK... I'm tired of his 1/4 a sentence answers... I recognize he's one of "the big people" on these forums but still... Talk a little... explain yourself... and dont just give crappy short answers... Either go into a big long speech like I just did and am doing or dont talk at all. Have a nice day.

We do not know when nor have any idea of how to estimate when. To give you an idea. We plan on Gekko outperforming Dolphin. How long will that take? Depends on how much spare time we have to work on it. At the moment you have the holidays screwing schedules up, jobs getting in the way (I've worked overtime for the last month resulting in no time to develop and now have a plane flight for a week out to a customer site. This overtime was completely unknown of 2 months ago), etc.
Unless you know of a way to know the future, we will simply release a version of Gekko only when it outperforms and is worth it. You want to know a sad fact? It is completely possible that after all the work we put in, we find out that we can not out-do but only meet Dolphin's speed (due to the GC's complexity). What then? No reason to release at that point. Too many questions, no answers at all.

You'll also probably need to upgrade more than just the graphics card if you want to increase the fps, since the graphics card doesn't do much work in most emulation unlike in PC games. If you plan on playing GC games at an enjoyable framerate with no errors or crashes, then buy a GC or Wii.

I'm getting a wii for christams anyways... But... I like to run stuff on computer because my computer screen is beautiful... Btw don't put a Wii and an xbox360 in the same room... Wii + Xbox360 unattended = mayhem

I believe that the ONLY way to increase speed is to support Dual Core cpus. PCSX2 already supports Dual core cpus and some games are fully playble now. The games that i have test on my Dual core system are: Kingdom hearts: 30-70 fps . TEKEN 4 35-50 FPS. CLOCK TOWER 3 30-40 FPS. INPECTOR GADGET MAD ROBOT INVANSION 20-30 FPS. RESIDENT EVIL 4 30-40 FPS. I have test theese games on my Athlon X2 44000+ DUAL CORE 2.2 GHZ 1 GB RAM DDR 400, And GeForce 7900 GT 256 mb, and as you can see the speed is PERFECT! That because Dual core Cpu help a lot because 2 cpus works faster and better than one alone.:) Gekko must be optimized to support Dual core cpu to run games in full speed. Dolphin dosent support Dual core cpus, that WHY is so slow.

We'll see about that ;)
And BAXTER, you'll get your wish, in a while... And you are right that dual core helps massively. It's currently fairly unstable but thanks to the gfx emulation being so expensive, the games that do work with it get massive boosts, approaching the ideal 2X and sometimes bypassing it due to better cache behaviour. This together with a fix of an optimization that used to be disabled due to bugs, makes Zelda WW go 5-10 fps outside and 10-15+ inside on my X2 3800+, and more improvements are coming...
I hope nobody gets angry if dolphin starts to require 64-bit :) It really helps with the dynarec and especially memory emulation...
The reason nobody gives any release timing information is that most emu authors try to have something of a life and has studies and work to do. I haven't worked on Dolphin for almost 2 years but I'm back in action now, at least for a little bit...

So , ector if you can get 15 fps in WW with a X2 3800+ ,how much fps will i get with my X2 4400+ ? And are you getting 15 fps using Dolphin or Gekko?

You could always get a capture card and plug your video cables directly into that. I got one recently for $30 or so.

Is Wimd Waker fully playble now? Or does it crashes when you get the telescope?

Why there are not any updates in Gekko Website? And is Zelda Wink Waker playble on Gekko?

Why are you asking these annoying questions? :p
Good luck with gekko, I dunno if suporting dual core cards will improve anything that massively with the GC but I dont really have a clue...
