Maybe one of those anti-piracy messages?
Anyway, change the resolution, try at least 640x480. What are your computer specs?

It is indeed an anti-piracy screen (as mentioned in pSX's compatibility list). You have to get a patch for it, or load the game using a PAL BIOS.

Just for your reference, the name of the best PAL BIOS is SCPH1002 or DTLH3002 (both names reference the same BIOS, even though the models are different).

thx :) so i can use DTLH3002 cuz thats the one i got
Yea it works thx but now its rlly slow but i guess thats better then nothing
omg its like every time i fix a problem a new one occurs ok this time lol TLOD started working fine was running slow so i put it on 640x480 resolution run perfect but as i was playing more into the game i notice the sound was was off in battle it would come in a min late into the battle and in the scenes they don't talk you cant hear the voices i thought to increase my latency so i did but still nothing help anyone ??? :-\

Those last couple things you mentioned (the in-battle stuff) is actually a compatibility issue with pSX. For the scenes, try the -r (Event Rescheduling) switch. Easiest way to use it is with Ultima's frontend, though you can just do it at the command line if you want.

The best bios for this game that I found out is 7502. I have yet to have any problems with the anti-mod copy protection in this game, or any speed issues either.

You will not be able to fix the in-battle sound problem. That is a problem with emulation and cannot be fixed. Try v1.10 WIP and see if that solves your problem (as there were apparently some sound fixes in the v1.10 WIP's).
The cutscene problem... if Event Rescheduling didn't work... I'm not sure what to say. I didn't have any problems with that, and I didn't do anything special to my image, except that I used a PAL/NTSC selector patch/trainer to get around the copy-protection (as I didn't want to keep switching between PAL and NTSC-U BIOS for LOD and other games). So besides that, the best I can say for this is the same as the in-battle problems... try the latest v1.10 WIP and see if that fixes your problem.
