pSX Emulator Crashing

Hi,
I've been struggling for a few days now trying to get FFXIII to run on an emulator.
I've tried loads of different ones and pSX Emulator was the first one I managed to get it working on.
That was until about an hour in to the game when it crashed. Typical windows bow appeared asking the 'send error report' question.
Now whenever I load the game it crashes within 2 minutes. I don't know if its a problem with the game, the emulator or a software clash with my pc.

Can anyone shed some light on the situation?

FFXIII? that supposed to be FFVIII, right?
Anyway are you using an ISO or running the game from cd?

FFVIII has been known to have some problems with pSX. Are you using savestates or memory card saves? Where in the game does it crash (end of battle, during battle, in transition from one screen to another, etc.)? Are you playing the PAL version or NTSC-U version?
