I have a few questions,
which emulators to choose for playstation and ps2 games?
will my pc be able to read psx + ps2 disks and play 'live' or am I required to create Images for each of my psx and ps2 disks?

you can play off CD. for playstation emulation you have ePSXe, PSXeven, SSSPSX, PCSX, or pSX, those are the main ones. for PS2 you have PCSX2.

I've downloaded pcsxs2 0.9 and have the bios off my ps2 and am trying to run a game from the dvd drive but it crashes after the "Playstation" logo comes on what am I doing wrong?

If you have a problem with PCSX2, post in the PCSX2 forum (http://forums.ngemu.com/showthread.php?p=718442#post718442)
