View Full Version : HELP: What GFX works with Nvidia GeForce 4?

It's been years that I've been trying to get PCSX2 to work. I got the latest verison and the latest GFX plugins.

The only problem is that I have a Nvidia GeForce 4 440 Ti. Am sure this is powerful enough to run Final Fantasy X or King Kong.

However everytime when I try to setup:

GSdx9 0.8
GSsoft Windows 0.9
GStaris 0.66
GSMax 0.5

It keeps on saying something has failed. I manage to get a test past on GStaris (I think), but all I get is a blank black screen. Shouldn't I get the BIOS at least?

But he is sort of asking about which plugin to use so perfectly fine to post here. Opened.

Back to topic, A ti 4200/4400 supports pixel shader upto 1.3 so make sure you are using Gsdx9 0.9 and pixel shader 1.1 option. It works flawlessly. :)

Please take a look in your Device Manager, DXdiag (click on start, run, dxdiag, enter) or in your Display Propeties if you have an Geforce 4 440 or an Geforce 4 TI 4400.

if you have a 440 you can't use the GS Plugins from PCSX2 0.9
then try Gsoft in PCSX2 0.8.1

The difference lies within the MX or the TI, seeing how he mentioned MX I think the 440 seems more like a typo to me actually.

Thanks Prafull. You are right that I am asking about which PS2 GFX plugins. PSCX2 has nothing to do with my issue, and I could easily use/try another PS2 emulator.

Cid Highwind & elitegamer, I am certain it's Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti 4400. I must have missed out a trailing zero. But it's definitely a Ti (Titanium).

Just to recap, all:

GSdx9 0.8
GSsoft Windows 0.9
GStaris 0.66
GSMax 0.5

does not seem to work and says one thing (pixal shader, or something) is not supported. However there is a plugin that comes with PSCX2 called ZeroGS. ZeroGS passes the test, but I just get a blank black screen.

I just noticed PSCX2 0.9 comes with GSdx9 0.9, and I have been replacing it with GSdx9 0.8. Hmmm...

elitegamer, I'll try GSsoft older version which came in PSCX2 0.8.1 and let you know. Hmm.. interesting, I can't seem to get any older versions of PSCX2.... :S

I also have scph10000.bin. Is this too old? Or should I upgrade to: scph70012.bin?

no wonder

GSdx9 0.8
GSsoft Windows 0.9
GStaris 0.66
GSMax 0.5

none of these will work on 0.9 due to the changes to the GS side of the emulator (specs etc). the fact ZeroGS didnt throw an error back shocks me, cos that requires Pixel Shader 2.0.

just use the GSDX9 that comes with 0.9 ;)

scph10000 is not supported anymore, and you are allowed only to use the
BIOS from your ps2.

You don't know, maybe he has both a jap v1 and a slim ps2 :p

Maybe... kevingpo if you have that model of PS2 definately use the BIOS from it.
