User Patches for PCSX2 - Do Not Make Requests!

Do not request patches.
If there are any they will be in all likelyhood posted here.
It should be obvious that we cannot make patches for games that we don't have.
Don't flood this thread with patches that are property of companies like Datel, Blaze or Pelican.

Don't use any patch before you have read it's purpose in the commentary line.

Just to cure our collective headaches "warnings about default.xml" being blank, or "patches not found", are merely information, they do not in any way effect PCSX2's compatibility or performance.


Feel free to complain about non-working patches though :eyemove:

Note:
a single line can be disabled by writing leading slashes or enabled by removing leading slashes

Following patches enabled by default:
- skip videos
- skip ilink/firewire/network check
- actual cheats like "unlock all stuff", "infinite lives" etc.

Most problems related to sound, VSync, DMA, CSR, VIF and GIF have been fixed meanwhile by the PCSX2 developers.
So these patches should be disabled.
However i leave them in the patch files for future reference. That and because i'm too lazy to edit them all.

P.S.
the "skip video" patches for "Gran Turismo 4" had been written for original DVD9 discs.
So don't expect them to work with "DVD5 rips", "PTP/OTP fixed DVD9+R" or "flattened HD ISOs".
Don't ask me or anybody else from PCSX2 team to make such. TIA

I made a patch for Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari. A while back, and the post was locked because I used screenshots from a 0.9 build. Anyway, I had problems getting the patch past the tutorial into the menus. I was wondering if somebody could check to see if there is anyway to go further. Thanks.

btw, I've asked several times about this but, I cannot get the PS2 Save Builder to work for me, could somebody get one of the saves off of GameFAQs and build it? Everytime I run PS2 Save Builder, my computer freezes and I have to Crtl+Alt+Delete to end the task of it. I have both versions of the .NET Framework installed

Romance of the Three Kingdoms X (SLUS_212)

Skip Video Patch(Made with the tutorial). Game goes ingame with it but i get lock ups - meaning the emulation seems to continue, sound is playing normal, but i cant do anything more, as if the game is in pause mode. Mostly happened when leaving the barracks menu.

Tested some more. It seems to happen randomely. Best way to go around is save on memory card. Savestates work too but not allways - lock up happens again - though i could save on memory card when i loaded a state and then reload the saved game and continue.

The most problems are with battles and longer sequences which play automatically. Since you can't save "normally" in these the only way is using savestates. But with those there is a high chance that it freezes again.

Without the patch the intro video seems to get further but with bad sound. Yet it stops at some point so the patch is still needed.
The freezes dont seem to happen now but i need to test some more to be fully sure 'bout that.

Here is the patch for Macross SDF. It allows to watch Intro movie (though it comes to a dead loop almost in the beginning ).

To skip this movie one have to try to push buttons while it is playing. Not always works but I managed.

For those who will try to use the patch I also tell some valuable info:

Note that the game can't be run from the beginning on non SSE2 processor. But after you get to the menu all ingame errors happen no matter if SSE2 or non SSE2 processor is used. (tested for AthlonXp 2500+ and Pentium M processors)

Game is fully playable for the first two levels of first scenario. Eerec hangs in the third level of third level of first scenario and first level of second scenario and also in training mission. Third level of first scenario can be played with eerec off. Fourth level of first scenario gives fatal cpuTlbmiss errors and can't be played.

Sorry but no patches can solve these problems, have to wait for next versions of pcsx2.

However in 0.9.1 the game suffers from EXTREME SPS (Spikey Polygon Syndrome), which renders it utterly unplayable.

Wait till 0.9.2 (no ETA yet, so don't ask), which will not require skip videos, and looks perfect ingame.

1) the mastercode is not needed for PCSX2
2) a byte code from a cheat device must be converted to a byte patch
3) half-word codes must be splitted into 2 byte patches

Here's a patch for the PAL version of Baldurs gate to disable the FMV. I just followed the FAQ method. This now allows it to get into the game. Once there though, there are some quite serious rendering issues. ZeroGS has problems rendering the full screen. The other screen-shots are taken with a patched GSsoft DLL for the latest SVN - you can find the source patch in another thread (with any luck it will be applied to SVN).

basically the patch for GT4 Prologue SCES_524.38 - 3FB69323.pnach doesnt work for me, im getting blank screen right after loading data from memory card, well when the patch is loaded fps goes up by ~6 at that point but thats all, cant get further. so if some of the betatesters still has the game, please check whats wrong, thanks in advance. Nothing is perfect, but this is the best I can do.
I have made the patch, but I get some in-game troubles.

I could play the game until I entered the first battle against Klaw Ants, but when I was going to enter the second battle, an error message appeared, then the emulator closed immediately.

Some cutscenes displayed nothing but merely some text messages spoken by the characters, especially when I choosed "Stay in bed" as Nancy hit the bucket with a stick, and at the conversation with Galvan when first time entering Hunter's Wood.

Maybe someone can make a better patch for this game...:)

Hi, I just come here to post a patch for Suikoden Tactics (U). I don't know which version it was pal or ntsc. I already return the disc to blockbuster so try it yourself. PCSX2 should stop at the first FMV (book is openning) but this patch should skip it. Anyway the game is quite slow for me (16-18FPS). Your guy might find it usefuls.
I almost forget. The games is very dim. It's look darker than real PS2. It looks like the fog is thicker in PCSX2. :P You will know what i mean when you try it by yourselves.

In theory, yes it is possible. The truth, No way. Alot of assembly code reading is need. Also, it requires to know the capability of PCSX2. You will waste your time to find those patches. Be patient and wait for the next release is much more better.

Has anyone got patching to work with Disgaea 2? I've converted codebreaker, action replay, and even attempted artmoney (which isnt freezing values) and none of it works. Havent had this problem with the original Disgaea where everything works fine. I've spent several days trying different permutations with zero result so far. Currently it looks like this but this has been as useless as all other character, xp, funds, stats, or any variation thereof so far.

You can't convert them because they have jokers, except the first one, but it would make the emulator crash because of all your other S. Link codes, and screw ARMAX. ARMAX is more miss than hit when converting, so I avoid it like the plague. Lastly, I just fiddle around with the games. You have damn near every cheat under the sun on it, which takes away even being able to call it a game.

I updated the patches for some FFX regions.
Some of the users had problems with crashes,no audio,etc.. because old patches for older PCSX2 releases were still activated.
They're not required in 0.9.2+ anymore!

i also fixed The FFX-2 German skipping movie patch.
The one from Nachbrenner was bad and triggered an VMhack crash before the second movie starts.
But the new one is fine.


you can check it with other FFX-2 PAL versions, PM me whether it works or not, and wich region!

this codes have money, SP, Bullet, EN, Parts, PP, LV and Unit Upgrade codes.

Just Put in the Patch Folder in PCSX2, and extract it.

I found these codes on AR2 and decrypted them with ps2cheat. it keeps good conditions in my emulator, PCSX2 0.9.5 SVN

You can forget it for Atelier Iris. If I get a buffer overflow error trying to convert it into patch form, I highly doubt it will work on PCSX2 without crashing. Not to mention the codes are like 100-200 lines each.

I'm new to PCSX2, what do I name this We Love Katamari patch? My problem with the game was that after the training stage which worked fine, the first level is only a bluish texture instead of the actual level. I have a 2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo as well as a brand new NVidia 8600M. The father's head (while loading) also lags. Is your We Heart Katamari working?

Notepad++ only saves as aonther patch file, named .diff.

Should be able to goto "savetype=allfiles in notepad(its in the dropdown box), and then type in your filename.extension. (xyz123.pnach) in the area where you name your file

If you dont do that you would end up as xxxx.pnach.txt, because notepad would add a .txt for you.

So just use what I mentioned above and it should work.

At notepad++ there's only the option to save as Diff (*.diff .patch *)
Indeed there's a whole list at savetype=allfiles, but this one is the only I one with .patch.

And these file don't work as an patch. Cause I need to save as .pnach

Greetings everyone! It's my first time to contribute a pnach file here, but I hope everybody would like this.

These are codes for the game Victorious Boxers 2/Hajime No Ippo 2 - Victorious Road for the PS2. The codes work in the Boxer's Road mode which is basically the career mode for this wonderful boxing game where you can create your boxer, train, manage diets, change weight classes and more!

Please take note that this is NOT Victorious Boxers 2: Fighting Spirit. Victorious Boxers 2/Hajime No Ippo 2 - Victorious Road is the true sequel to Victorious Boxers 1/Hajime No Ippo 1. Victorious Boxers 2: Fighting Spirit is actually the THIRD game in the series for the PS2, but only Fighting Spirit got an American version released.

So yes, putting // before a line negates it by making it a comment. The code won't work with // before it.
I don't know how to really explain this well. But 0xxxxxxxx is the original line of code to be altered. 2xxxxxxxxx is a mirror in the RAM and operates the as 0xxxxxxxx and you can use other mirrors, but it would only be for show at this point. 1xxxxxxxxx is hardware and needs to be changed to 0xxxxxxxxxx.

I'm trying to get "Star Wars Episode III Revenge of The Sith" halfway running (I'm aware that it is listed as "ingame"). I've read that a savegame is required in order to play a few levels, because the game crashes when the Star Wars logo is shown.

Thanks a lot, it worked flawlessly .
Unfortunately, there are a lot of graphical issues in the game I want to play, and noone seems to have big interest in or experience with this game. Guess I'll have to wait for the next update.

Major update: As of PCSX2 SVN 349 and later the videos in Ar Tonelico do a lot better. The opening video when you first boot the game plays to completion without problem. I suspected the other ones were working too and they seem to be, I played all the videos from the extras menu and none of them hang. I would recommend you use the public beta build 351 or newer over this patch, however I will leave the patch here for posterity and because some people might want to stick with the supported release of 0.9.4. Also note that if you want to see the REAL videos as the game was meant to display them, you must NOT use my patch since it REPLACES the ones that were crashing, so you don't get to see them. Anyhow I hoped my patch helped some people in the short span of time it was useful. The PCSX2 team rocks!


Author's note: If you've never played Ar Tonelico before this post might contain some tiny spoilers.

Hey everyone, this is my first post. As with some other people on this board I was frustrated by the unskippable FMV in Ar Tonelico that occurs when you set off flying towards the blastline. I found no fixes after a good long search. So I wanted to fix it myself but I had no previous experience with patches and the simple SceMpegIsEnd patch did not work. Anyway long story short, after a lot of reading and fooling around I have devised a patch that WILL get you past that specific FMV. It's more of a hack actually. I had tried to replace the pointer to the FMV with one to a different FMV that COULD be skipped but that was flawed logic. The routine is preventing the skip, not the FMV itself. It would play the other FMV but still lock. Then it hit me. Replace it with a pointer to an FMV that DOESN'T crash and will exit normally. I also had to revise it and replace other videos Here you go:

Now when you attempt to fly up the tower, the cutscene will be replaced with the cutscene that plays the first time you enter Misha's Cosmosphere. The same hack will be applied to the video after you fight Slepnir, and to the phase 2 and 3 end credits. Also note that this will only work for these SPECIFIC FMVs mentioned. All the movies up to that point can be skipped by pressing start before they crash. There may be other unskippable movies that crash after these. I don't know. The same hack should work with them with the proper memory addresses. If you find any other crashing videos (that cannot be skipped just by pushing START!)let me know and I will attempt to fix them in the same manner. I hope some people benefit from this. Also, thanks to the PCSX2 team for the great emulator. You guys rock!
P.S. The file is attached and a couple of screenshots as well.

Once again, as of SVN build 349, I don't think this patch is needed and it will prevent you from seeing the proper videos, so don't use it unless you are having problems!

EDIT: New version, video immediately after the fight in the same sequence had same problem. Was fixed in same manner.
EDIT2: Same thing happens in unskippable phase 2 credits FMV. Will update tomorrow.
EDIT3:New version with fix for end credits. I now have a save in Platina ready to start phase 3. Nice
EDIT4:New version with fix for phase 2 clear phase 3 start interlude.
