About time. You've already been mentioned on some of the other forums. :p
I didn't like Castlevania much at first, but the more I played it, the more interesting it got, especially when I got the mars card and turned the hero into an Alucard clone.

its a hopeful rumor among the less informed. but with the recent purchase of part of square by sony and the current relations with nintendo, i wouldnt expect anything any time soon..
Ryos
November 13th, 2001, 12:51
Square won't publish anything for Nintendo while the current NoJ president is in power. I'm not sure if they will afterwards, but definitely not now. He's been adamantly opposed to Square.
"In an article with Bloomberg Japan, Hiroshi Yamauchi, the president of Nintendo Company Limited, stated that the company does not and will not have a contract with Square to produce software for the Game Boy Advance or the GameCube. "

simply becuz wonderswan color is coming to the US and so are the ff remakes for it, so i don't see why square would make more remakes for the gba, besides, second to sqaure pres, SONY owns the largest stock in sqauresoft, that and the fact that nin pres is a (insert 'colorful' adjective here).

from what I've seen so far...I think Wario Land 4. It's an original and great platformer.
Gradius Advance is cool, but I expected more than that...after playing Gradius Gaiden on the psx this is kind of a dissapointment.
oh, and....Advance Wars is really good too!
But I don't like the fact that half of the games are snes ports....that really stinks.

well, actually there's another thing with the gba I dont like...
porting 3D games (like Tekken) to 2D and then let reviewers go like ooooh...that's quite good with the sprites, almost 3d! ...
duh.
Just use the GBA for what it's good at: 2D.

That's easy, ToP has already had a remake and Star Ocean was never released in the states, so it wouldn't be a remake for us, and Enix will not goto all the trouble of translating SO to english. I want to see some Megaman X remakes for the gba, if not that, after X6 i want X7 to be on gba instead of a next-gen system.

December 8th, 2001, 19:17
yup yup, gba is more than powerful enough to handle 2d based side scrollin' megaman, heehee. kindda dissapointed that the first megaman title for gba isnt in that category... :( i am not against mmbn, but i dun quite like its cough cough unique battle system. if yer lookin' for a side scrollin' game for gba, check out lady sia for some complex combos shez got; and klonoa for its cute little puzzle solving adventure.
and then therez the must have~~~ golden sun! itz the best game for gba! golen sun, i love you!!!(huggin' n' kissin' the cartridge). it has some unbelievable, eye-poppin', sprite effects for the magics n stuff! graphics and bg music and over all gameplay is juz gorgeous! easily THE BEST RPG for a hand held. i dun kno wutz the deal here but compared to dis, bof remake looks like @#%$^!!!
oh ya and i think i did see an article about nintendo makin' up to square and how square might grand its classic ff seris' mercy on gba back in the days of gbas late development stages. ahhh, if sony hadnt been so nice to nintendo... (crying) i want ff for my gba!!!
gerbilcannon
December 8th, 2001, 19:32
I want new ff games then, not just remakes, I'm sick of remakes!! There are just way too many remakes out there. I need some coffee grr. Lunar and Lunar 2 garnered a slew of remakes, and so far those are the only ones of any impressive quality at all in a remake. But still, I'd be more interested in a new game than a prettier old game.

However the number of quality gba games is nowhere near as high :(

thats because the graphic of ps2, xbox, g-cube and computer games out numbered gba.

but you cant carry any of those in your pocket...
gba is awesome. what would be really cool is to see a new one w/ n64 graphics.

definitely. i choose games for quality first. price next. and if i'm looking for something to tease my eyes, graphics last. in my opinion, graphics sell to younger gamers.

well usually i won't judge a game by it's graphics but man...i just played a game yesterday that i'm sure would of been a best seller if it werent for the graphics...i mean they really suck and that';s why i stoped playing......can't seem to remember the name of the game...
BoF2
March 8th, 2002, 09:02
Hehe, if there was a game called BoF2 for gba.
It would be the best.

well they are making pretty good games for gba but wouldn't it be cool i there was a handheld system with at least the graphics of n64?
gerbilcannon
March 15th, 2002, 03:39
And you would chop off you arm or leg for that system? It would be a lot clunkier to port around than a gba that is for sure which would eliminate alot of the appeal of a handheld gaming device. And personally, I like the fact that true 3d graphics are still beyond the realm of the portable, as I really enjoy the look and feel of 2d games.

*Agrees with gerbilcannon completely*
And yes FOREVER. It's about bloody time, the only reason that game got such a nice welcome was becuase it was the first of it's kind [read traditional rpg] on the gba. Shining Soul, Magical Vacation, Tactics Ogre Gaiden, and BoF2 are going to wipe it out.

March 15th, 2002, 06:32
Don't know about BoF2 since I've played through the snes version but I agree about Tactics Ogre Gaiden and Shining Soul. Haven't heard of Magical Vacation, but it isn't like I pay much attention to the games coming out lately anyhow.

The Vagrant
March 17th, 2002, 18:38
Mode 7 again, it's Psuedo 3D. Still haven't seen a GBA that can even come close to rivaling Star Ocean in graphics yet [ah what the heck its not like any of these GBA games can rival Star Ocean in anything].

if you inlarge the screen on your emulator it doens't look 3d no more.

i recommend golden sun and megaman battle network. The only good gba games are rpgs.

Love Hina Advance...
My Japanese skills are near 0, but hey, at least I can point out some kanji. :p
The graphics are definitely a step up from Pocket Love Hina for the GBC, but there's less content since it's skipping around the anime (the first 21 or so episodes).
