Is it possible to construct a DVD drive for the Dreamcast? And not only that, a program that we could embalm into the BIOS or replace the Music section, reprogram it and call it 'DreamPlayer' or something like that. Is it possible? Also, even though it might interfer wit the GD-ROM, its being said it has to do with the SCSI or something like that, i might be wrong. CAn anyone tell me if it is possible?

please do not bump threads. if no one has replied it is because no one who viewed your thread knows.
on a side note: you seem to want to modify your DC alot. has any of those things actually worked?

1. dont bump threads. if no one knows, no one knows.
2. it's pretty much impossible. you are basically talking about recreating the dreamcast into an entirely new system.
why would you want to do that anyway? just buy a DVD player. or a computer. that will play all the media you need. then you can download Chankast and play DC games too.
edit: damn you chrono you got to it before me :p

Well I guess it's just a prestige thing. I'd love to see it working as well, but AFAIK it isn't possible. If people would know how to make a DVD player read GD-Roms so that it will work in a Dreamcast, we would also have GD-reading dvd players in PCs.

Kinda off topic, but anyone know whatever became of the Dreamcast PCI card for PC that was being worked on a few years ago?

Is that card something that would make it able to use PCI cards/modems in a DC?
I've heard about it I think, but only in a way of other ppl asking if it was possible to use a networking card that way, so they won't have to buy a BBA. I've never heard of anyone succeeding in something like that.
