Windowblinds can simulate full Aero on XP...that definitely requires a fair bit to make EVERYTHING transparent.

Sadly you're wrong. WB won't make the address toolbars glassy. ;(

Hmmm....I used a Vista transformation pack a few years ago and used WindowBlinds to make everything seethrough and AERO...at the cost of a ton of resources...so I soon got over it.
Unfortunately I no longer have the pack or any screenshots so I have no proof of my claims.

Yeah Vista Transformation Pack 3.0 Lite or something along those lines....it required WindowBlinds additionaly though to make everything fully transparent. It looked amazing, but required a just as amazing amount of resources.

Well, the desktop customizing scene has grown a lot since Vista's realese... I could even bet that they have emulated the glass toolbar. Just can't say names cause I've lost interest on turning XP into Vista-looking, so I am very outdated. ^^

well, I'm going to have 1 screen taken away from me this weekend, and probably my diNovo keyboard T.T, and my PSU, and my fan, and everything!
(well, I'll see them again the beginning of summer XD)
they are going to be home while I'm still in school T^T, since I don't think my dad's car can fit 3 desktops...(including 1 of my sister)
It sucks so much that New Jersey requires tax... =_=
I'm forced to send the all of the packages to my university to avoid like $400 of tax...

yeah i hate tax.
when i look for PC parts, i always try and find a website that won't tax me.
clubit.com and newegg.com don't tax me. i've saved $100s using them instead of TigerDirect.com which taxes me.

I try and only keep 1 column of icons on my desktop...2 columns if I absolutely must, but I try to keep it to one as much as I can, I would say that's still fairly clean.

The Vista start menu (and similar solutions would work the same i guess, like Google Desktop's ctrl-ctrl menu) replaced all my icons. Just type the first letters of what i want, And enter. Works like a charm.

If anyone else uses WB its stealth os with grayscale on and darker gamma adjustment.. The wallpaper i just something I found from web, Alien obviously:D

Yeah, or in my case I find my start menu too cluttered aswell (it fills up the entire screen at 1280x1024) for fast access so I have custom toolbars on my taskbar to which I routinely move my shortcuts from the desktop if they start spilling over 1 column.

No... At least I can't find how... They're ready made skins you see, on some of them its a logo, alien head or just a black dot. I'd use the alien skin but I can't see the bottom bar in mozilla then, and I happen to like it there.

Oh and I did some modification, my wallpaper is now this... Otherwise its the same so I didn't bother at capturing it.

I think my bricopack messes it up....any text is unreadable on the light version (it's all blurry and out of focus...) (and every option is locked so I can't really fiddle much)...woulda been fun for a laugh...but bah I am over it....my current desktop looks too good anyways to replace with some gimmick.
(check back a few pages if you want to see it.....I am kinda bummed no one commented on it back then...although I guess people are over anime ones for the most part)

Nice desktop, mudlord! I'm not very fond of dark themes but this one is pretty sleek.

(and you collection of games is pretty good, btw!)

For me, I guess I'll stick with this one for a while, it's pleasant to the eyes and very functional.

I have a program called SpeedFan installed. everyone should give it a look. its a free program that displays processors and gpus along with temps and fan speeds. And allows you to adjust them and such. its an awesome little program. and it integrates with some of your gadgets.

I was talking about your resolution being 1024x768. Unless you have a really old laptop then your resolution is set way too low.

apart from ePSXe i dont have a problem like that with any app , and to be onest the reason its up there is i always hated that the taskbar covers the lower part of an backround/wallpaper one day i tried to put it up it felt strange a time but after that i came to love it and now i cant get to like the taskbar down :))

Yup, its XP... Window blinds has quite a selection of different skins, plus you can download more from their website.

Oh, and just a note... That wallpaper I found from the net, I didn't make it. Just in case someone misunderstood:D Found quite a selection, but if you like mitsuru here are couple of choices;):

Depends really, I have to go into Missouri to get 110 octane fuel, but that's only when I go to the strips. I don't get just a "tank" of gas when buying 110 Octane. It's rather expensive. Other than that I usually spend around $30-45 on premium, but I don't drive it outside of the strip much, just cause I get 7-12 mpg... I have a fuel injected Crown Vic. Police Interceptor 4.6L Modular SOHC V8 ( unlocked ) that I am debating putting into a 67 Fastback, but I'm still trying to work out a few kinks. If I can get it working, I would theoretically speaking get around 35 mpg, with a little fine tuning I'm hoping to get 40+ if not around 50. But that's going to require ALOT of work and money that I can't seem to make fast enough. :P

Yup, its XP... Window blinds has quite a selection of different skins, plus you can download more from their website.

Oh, and just a note... That wallpaper I found from the net, I didn't make it. Just in case someone misunderstood:D Found quite a selection, but if you like mitsuru here are couple of choices;):

I never look at the fact I have a widescreen monitor as a negative!!

Oh, except for the fact that I feel silly for not paying the extra $20 for one that is HDCP compliant!
I feel very silly there and I will regret it even more when I get a Blu-Ray drive!!

Nope. 1600x1200 gives me a lot of desktop room. I like that. I tend to have like 10 programs open at once, so its nice.

Its especially nice for use in Photoshop. Even though some websites look screwed up at this res.

Unfortunately the Thinkpads they supply us with at IBM automatically default back to original colours on reboot. Plus I can't patch uxtheme -.-

Well pretty much any custom theme requires uxtheme patching...so what I suggest really is the best option.

What I meant was altering the theme through right-clicking on your desktop then going to Properties and clicking on the Appearannce tab and altering the colours and font for the Windows Classic theme there. You could then also save that theme under the Themes tab and and then just reapply it every time you use the PC.

Ty got inspired by bricopack used the programs that are in that pack rocket dock wich i for one say its the greatest (or at least better than object dock with processor consumption) and transbar which enables taskbar transparency with no performance lost and rainlander for calendar, "to do" & "event" list :)

Ty radix for the compliment on my chuXchu wall :D that haro winamp skin is a killer :)) especially the animation. I removed the transbar cause it seems to cause conflicts with nulldc, makaron, some of the ePSXe video plugins and maybe other games 2 same goes for the transbar in bricopack

Edit: didnt wanted to make a new post just for this with this wall i like my desktop even more :D , disgaea is quite a funny and nice game :D here you can see the winamp in full mode

Yeah I guess they don't make the best wallpapers, but seeing as this one is still enveloped in the euphoria of having a brand new car it's awesome for as long as that euphoria will last and therefore fits fine at the moment. My new desktop as I changed my old screen to my old HDready TV, LG 19LS4D. I bought a new TV but bigger, also HDready 26" samsung... Damn those 720€ stung but now I've got heck of a TV and heck of a monitor!:D

As you can see my wall is themed Higurashi no naku koroni, my no doubt favourite anime!:D And my favourite character from it, Rena!!! Otherwise my windowblinds is the same theme as before "PirateX" but now in dark red to fit the wall!

Too bad the screen is widescreen but luckily it seems the wallpaper didn't get bent too badly, as its only 1024x768. Wallpaper isn't made by me BTW! The creator has signature in the bottom, I just took it from google picture search...

Whichever programmer sets the default download place for browsers to desktop should be tortured renlentlessly and then shot with a gatling gun.
