oh crap, an icon on my desktop. well it's a reminder to install the new nforce drivers whenever i install (working on an uptime of 3+ weeks now, i want to see how long i can do it while still caring about it).

desktop pic is a photo i took at starbucks, of all places.

theme is back to 2251 professional.

nothign special, really, except for the presence of an icon on my desktop

i wasnt really paying attention to the thread for the last couple days but i dont really mind, that wallpaper was like a 5-10 minute test of a bunch of brushes and effects, i didnt even think it would turn out well when i started it but hey, any praise is always welcome ;) for the record though i posted it up in the custom wallpaper thread with about a 200kb version which was optimized in imageready ;)

only time i actually get angry is when others steal credit for my handdrawn works (or my more recent computer cg pictures though i dont think that's happened yet since theyre relatively few and unpopular... for now :p)

Kane what phone do you have? I have a Moterola T720 , I cant send it wallpapers from the internet as far as i know ( i havent tried either) Plus the fact they drain my battery

Motoroloa v525. I send the wallpapers and ringtones via Bluetooth.
The Battery lasts about 5 days with making a good couple of short calls a day and using the camera feature.

Despite it's lack of Direct3d or USB support, Windows NT is still a really solid OS. It's runs smooth as butter on an old Pentium with at least 64Mb of ram. My mom is running it on her computer. Winamp 5 works fine on it as well as IE6. If it wasn't for the lack of said features (Which I kinda need at the moment) I would still be using NT4 as my OS as well.

NT4 still makes a great internet machine even today. It's so bloody fast and uses so little ram it's incredible.

Here is how you do it:

Create Desktop icon to lock the computer

Tool: Create Shortcut Wizard

1. Right click on an empty area on your desktop.

2. Select New>Shortcut.

3. In the first box of the Create Shortcut Wizard, type "Rundll32.exe User32.dll,LockWorkStation" (without quotes). Note there is no space between the comma and LockWorkStation, which is also one word. Click Next.

4. Call the shortcut something like "Lock PC" (without quotes) and click Finish.

5. To add the finishing touch, right click on the new icon, select Properties, click the Change Icon button and select an appropriate icon.

Now whenever you click this icon your PC will instantly be locked, and can only be accessed by the user entering a correct password in the Login box. Note you can also lock the computer at any time by press WINDOWS + L. Also note that if you have an account with no password, locking the desktop is a little pointless as anyone can login by just leaving the password field blank and clicking OK to log back in.

Luckily I discovered the use of adding a keycombi shortcut to a link, so I don't have to search for long for my programs. Mozilla FireFox is next to the start button, 'my computer' in the upper left corner, and winamp opens when I use CTRL + ALT + W, same goes for KLite with the 'K' :D

And go easy on me for using Win 98, because my 'rig' is more than 6 years old, and still working :p

Me too, can't seem to get used to XP :p
Some weeks ago I installed a program on the XP computer which ran fine on my 98 system, but made the XP one crash oO The whole system didn't even boot anymore, and after I was able to uninstall it, the computer was slow as hell and I didn't know what to do anymore, so I had to reinstall windows...
Win98 crashes more often, but I reboot, and everything works fine. XP crashes less, but if it does, things are screwed up badly :rolleyes: (I'm not trying to bash XP, it's just some of my experience :))

My current desktop :D. I made the scene a couple of days ago using Bryce 4. The JPEG doesn't do the scene justice, it smooths out the bumpiness of the rough glass texture (used on the orange objects) :(. I would upload a PNG but it's over 2 megabytes :p.

Edit: Attached a picture showing the rendering stats :p.

It was because I set anti-aliasing to the highest setting, which roughly tripled the rendering time compared to the normal setting :p.

Have you heard of:
1. My Documents: Perfect place for a "Pictures" folder where you can store such things as bouncingboobs.gif :p

2. The delete key: Perfect for deleting such useless **** as "AOL and Internet Fr...", "Compuserve and Internet" etc

3. Creating a folder for all of your downloads such as "C:\Downloads".

4. Bookmarks in IE so you dont need to have all your torrent sites in a text file?

5. Etc, Etc?

You should atleast clean it up and it might clear up some ram for you. :laugh:

Icons With no Name

using [alt+0160] you can create a 'hard space' to name your icons with nothing :D (for more than one icon you need to [alt]160[alt]0160 etc to name each icon with more spaces) :D

Rename your recylce bin? winXP only | It's your own fault if you screw anything up BTW ;)

Yep it is, taken with 6xFSAA and 16xAniso.. Soul Calibur in Chankast makes for some great wallpapers. :D
