ive tried ps2play but it doesnt seem to play any of the movies off the disc. which movie players actually play movies from ps2 cds, not dvd-roms.

AFAIK it doesn't depend if game is on cd or dvd, it depends on how movies are written on ps2 disc...

they could be in *.pss files and you can view them with ps2 movie player, but they also can be packed/combined in *.dat files, and probably othere files which I have no clue right now (i se you are stubborn with those cds... it what I've written above can happen on ps2 cds and also dvds...)

As far as I know the pss format is rather unused nowadays.

And certain games (Squaresoft is good at this) have the video data as unseen files by your OS and they have to be extracted with movie rippers that private users have written. I managed to rip the FMV's from FFX and Xenosaga with the ripper tools (can't remember where I found them though). Just google it (of course :p),
