Well the title says it:

Can i use the radeon to read the frammebuffer in ff9? i have lod and i have to use the emulated vram to play it...any suggestion?

You can try it. If it doesn't work, then no, you can't. And make sure you're using the latest drivers.

i was just wondering, 'couse i still have to get ff9...so does somebody out there with a radeon and processor close to my duron800 get a good result with ff9 or lod?

The framebuffer should work with your Radeon,I don't see why it shouldn't?

I dunno why it came in my mind, but i read somewhere that some cards doesn't read the framebuffer, plus i had to switch emulated vram for lod...so i i got some suspects..

but anyway tnx

Disable Framebuffer writes in the Special Game Fixes when playing Final Fantasy 9 otherwise ePSXe will crash.

1) It says so in the documents
2) I've tried it and it doesn't work with FF9

Framebuffer: 2: Gfx card buffer - Can be slow
It doesn't work with FSAA
The best option with FSAA is:
Framebuffer: 1: Black - Fast but not special effects
