Hey guess what? BigLots tops Wal-Mart in anime! Its really unbelievable. BigLots has it all, Zoids, DBZ, Correcter Yui, a lot of Pokemon, and MORE! The price range is from $3 to $5 which is even more exciting because if you spend $100 then you can buy at least up to 35 anime pieces that you love  . You should check it out sometime! :thumb:

big lots only sells stuff people don't buy at other places :p. My grandma shops there for really crappy lawn ornaments and stuff. what does that tell you about anime?

sorry...couldn't help it

Well, as much as I love anime, I have to unfortuanetly agree with N1ghtw0lf. Anime DVDs are really expensive in the US because the sales are very low to compared to the sales of other DVDs.

If you think that R1 DVD's are expensive you'd be surprised at the "cheap" (read:outrageous") price of the Japanese's R2 O_O

And then they wonder why the sectors in the lower part of the pyramid resort to piracy...

At least in Japan they can watch the anime while it's on TV. Here in the US, the few animes that are broadcast on TV are always dubbed, and often edited for having the same suggestive content and violence that regular TV shows have been getting away with for years.

Its TRUE, they have great anime DVD's. A huge selection of them. Biglots is finally a true store.

Sorry, you mention 4 'animes' and the are Pokemon, Ziods, DBZ and Corrector Yui (the last of which isn't even on AniDB). Have you actualy watched a real anime, like Full Metal Panic, Juuni Kokuki, Scrapped Princess, Azumanga Daioh, Mai-Hime or School Rumble?

My sentiments exactly.

I doubt the little guy would understand anything if he watched even one of those you mentioned (great titles btw, FMP rocks). :p

azumanga: chiyo, nuff said :D:D:D

Anyways, regular anime available in stores here usually sucks bigtime. True anime only available in japan only r0x

You mean Pokémon, Beyblade, and that kind of stuff

Oh and let's not forget Metabots and Digimon :p

Too bad there aren't any decent anime shows on tv here :(

Zoids? DBZ? Pokemon?

I'm sorry, but those are considered to be watered down mainstream fluff. Pokemon videos were in the kiddy video section in major retail stores five years ago. So you're revelation is a little late.

If they had Neon Genesis Evagelion, Serial Experiments Lain or X then this is something to talk about.

FMP? FMA :)

You do realize that FMP (Full Metal Panic) and FMA (Full Metal Alchemist) are two different shows. :)

I like both FMP and FMA (not the licensed cartoon network crap), but I was just referring to Kane's references. :p

The price of anime is rediculous even if the sales are a lot lower. I can buy a season of a TV show with 22 episodes for $20 - $30 but a 13 episode anime series costs between $60 - $100.
