View Full Version : PS2 FMV Function call?

I'm just shooting in the dark here. Most games seem to use a standard format for their videos, like PSS. It seems the PS2 would have a function to play these videos built-in, since most games use them. If it does, couldn't you look through the game's code for that function call and see where the FMV is located? If you could, you might be able to find some of those hard-to-get FMVs. Again, just shooting in the dark here...

Maybe, but if they are in the standard format, you should be able to find them with an extractor. You can't, so that means the data is compressed, encripted or both...

Is there some other extractors ? for other files or for compresses or encrypted?

There are some, for specific games, but AFAIK, there isn't any standard one that supports all the known compressions/encryptions... and I didn't find info on how they work :p
