Back when I had a good paying job, I was going to buy a 2000 Yamaha R6, but didn't. It's probly good that I didn't get it since I quit that job cuz it really sucked. Great pay though. Damn I wanted that bike, and still do. That or a Ducati 748. At the time my buddy/roomate had a '95 Honda CBR600 F2. We took it out on the freeway at like 3:00am and hit 260KM/h with the two of us on it. That was freaking scary since I was on the back and tucked down, and had no idea how fast we were goin. He said he hit 280KM/h by himself, goin that fast is nuts, but a rush.

Here we go! I did not create this, its right from the Ducati US site in their wallpapers section. Just resized it n stuff. Not the same engine as the bike in my sig has. Rather its from the new MotoGP bike Ducati has this year.

What did you learn from it? The engine is something differant then what Ducati is known for, that being the big wide angle V twins in their other sport bikes like the 748, 916, and 998(the one Trinity rides in Reloaded). Once you hear a Ducati run and pass you, you will almost always be able recognize it. Very distinct sound.

If you ar thinking that they sound like a Harley V Twin, it's really nothing like that. Harley's are just obnoxious, where as Ducati's have a muffler. A deep throaty sound that is almost like a big V8 car. You can listen at Ducati's website too.

The two inside ones are of Kain from FF4, and the outsides ones and avatar are from FFXI. The Screaming dragon in the backround is the Dragon you have to beat in FFXI to get the Dragoon class.

I made myself a new signature for emuforums after RPGWizard made me a awezome one for emufanatics, you can see it below in my signature... But there is a BIG problem... It is 37 kb.

If someone would be so kind to either tell me how to optimize the image size in Photoshop, or do it for me (without destroying the image quality) to get it down to 15-20 kb I would be very, very happy (it will get removed if I keep it this large much longer... in fact I will remove it and just post the image here for my own safety)

He means the size of it, because it was linked off-site it was much larger than the 'limits' of 500x80... Although I really liked it anyways.

Heres my new revision, and I am gonna use it. I managed to get the size down to 23 kb without too much quality loss.

My next plan is to link up pictures of my hardware components into my sig (I can stick the pictures I have take into my hostmysig.com account and link up to them! :)); which will be pretty kool. :)

Yep, ImageReady is a real life-saver, but so is 'Save for Web' in Photoshop, as it is IMHO better at times than ImageReady at compressing.

It's a metaphor. On a ship, the crew takes care of things and ensures the ship keeps working and going. NGEmu is the ship. The people who keep it going (the staff/administration) are the crew.

Nah, it's still under construction anyway. I just write whatever cross in my mind and still thinking about that. It should have a small banner image in the left of the each link, but I'm not done yet. My proc suddently dead and I'm still collecting money for the upgrade. As I'm pretty sure, I will contact them, and also all website mentioned there. If they agreed, I will use it, otherwise not. So, don't think it would be the real affiliates, still in my mind and the real may be less than that oO.

i made the siggy with adobe photoshop mainly by cropping the original pictures, resizing them to fit 120 height, then pasting them one over the other in the picture... then i moved them around to see which pictures are better in which position and which are probably easier to blend... once that was done i started blending them by adding each layer a layer mask and using a gradient to erase the edge, the thing thats good about masks is that theyre much more editable than the original pictures so i was able to continue editing even though it looked like there were no pixels in a certain area, i suppose its a bit hard to explain, i had to watch a friend's aps tapes to figure out how to do it

Don't ask about that. I myself believe that 120px is allowed, since the uploader said that, but Kane resist with 100 and said that it's a mistaken ... but they didn't fix it ... even until now. You can imagine, how much ppl would "suffering" to change their 120px avatar into 100px just because simply the uploader said 120px was allowed.

Strider: What is masking? And what are 'the tapes'? Sorry for the (2) stupid questions (I need to improve my photoshop skills). I made my signature using Photoshop 7, but it isn't particularily 'extravagent'; I bet you can guess which filters I used and in what order :p.

I am thinking of trying to make another one with some more 'magic' (dark and evil looking stuff - cloudlike swirls and tendrils, with the intention of having a transparent sign-off of magus casting a spell) in it.

I attempted one with some 'black lightning', but it just didn't fit and looked 'gaudy' and unnessasarily bright.

If anyone knows of a good resource for (decent) pictures of Magus I would be greatly appreciative (I can only find two of adequate quality!)

The reason I am asking these questions (and mentioning these ideas) is that I think that you have a real knack for graphical design (and I some need advice in that department :))

i dont remember the name of the tapes, something with key, masking is the technique of basically blocking pixels from being seen, but not actually erasing them, the good thing about this technique is that you can easily reclaim an erased portion of your pictures by simply deleting a part of the mask... every individual layer can have its own mask, in the layers window somewhere on the bottom there should be an option on a small button to add a mask, it looks like a small circle... when the mask is added you click on the layer with the mask, but click on the mask picture, this lets you edit the mask, to edit the mask use black and white to add / delete the mask, or use a gradient to get a nice fade effect

i dont think you will understand at first what i said above but i dont think i can make it any simpler without pictures :p

Sadly google has only two (decent) pictures of the magus... Bth of which I am currently using ;) :p.

I found some 'fan-art' stuff but it doesn't really go with anything but other fan-art, and I don't 'like' most of it :) (picky, picky...)

actually masks were in 6.0 and even before that i believe...i dont think there are any tutorials to make a sig anywhere, you just learn as you go, little techniques that make things better or easier... your sig as well as mine are composed of much larger images which were cropped, reduced in sized, fitted on a new picture, and blended together...

hmm, i made the sig, i wonder why it shows up that big, i remember compressing it down to 20, ill change it soon... btw i still see it as 32 kb which is the size on disk but the actual size should be 19.8

btw the current limits are 500x120 25 kb i believe, although that may be lowered

oh...they must have changed since 2.0...well when i saved the picture to my computer it was a bmp file...thats the problem...when i put it on jpg with full quality it was 50...then i put it to 5 quality and there wasn't a big diff in quality...just not as shard and its 31

It's because of the 'Host my sig' thing. If you follow the link twice, you get it as a Jpeg which is just over 20k.
