(on the highest layer) draw with the vector-tool a lot of parallelly (control+tool) and horizontally white (or black, grey) lines (1 pixel) with the same distance (after few lines i would use copy+paste @_@). if you will finish play with transparence (maybe 10-20%).

in my example the lines haven't the same distance and they should be closer.
not without cause i used this bad quality x_x ...

What you do is create a pattern. make a 2x2 image in photoshop or similar programs, and cover the upper half in black, leaving the lower half transparent. Make that a pattern, and fill any image you want with that pattern. The result : a layer made of lines, one black, one transparent, and so forth.

Im not sure what looks wrong. Anyway, what i usualy do is add a new empty layer on top, select it all, then use Select -> Modify -> Border and fill the new selection up (Using Photoshop For this).

Well, here is my latest art project. (My sig) painted pixel by pixel in Photoshop I used a lot of new ides and also some old ones. I created a special Screen Glare effect on my own. I don’t think anyone has done this before. (At least in a sig) it adds depth and realism. But it obstructs the image.

So what do you guys think? Is it too much?

i always do the gaussian blur screen effect ;) i did it in the first one too since the actual screenshot was really dark, then i added grunge effects to the back and a lens flare behind the dinosaurs head

okay im probley gonna change sigs again, wasnt too happy with how my punisher sigs keept coming out so im goin back to the enterprise theme(s) again :)

i cant make up my mind though, i was able to punch out a background i like, but i havent been able to get a good angle shot of the ship, besides the old one i used. so i made out too. the only thing i can think of with v1 is put the non transparent enterprise image at top instead of the bottom, but dunno if it will make much of a differance now that i think about it on v2 the transparent enterprise could be abit bigger to try and cover up that white spot

when i try that i always get contridiction, black areas not looking good against white backgrounds and vice versa (sorta dissolved at the edges, like its not completely transparent).
Well, haven't tried much. Just made a gif, painted an area on a color that's way different to any other used on my sig, and declared that one transparent. I don't know if it would have any counter effects on different sigs, just tried it with this one and worked :p

EDIT: Well photoshop seems to make similar colors (like in current sig, i tried using pure pink [255,0,255] and in the pallate it added some colors slighly less pure, and trying to make those transparent too kills some other stuff as it creates a really dark pink to blend in with the black etc .. Problem :P

EDIT2: This is the best i could do, it works against all forums i use but it completly killed the drop shadow aswell - compere with my current sig.

the size limit is 25Kb too.... and IE doesn't yet support PNG alpha transparency. I know most intelligent people don't use IE, but it's still a massively used browser.

EDIT: Sasuke Signature v4 WiP - I want to replace the center sasuke image with one with his mangakyou sharingan, should i find suitable pictures of that in the following episodes of naruto.

The avatar is definitly going to be replaced, from about the same reason.

EDIT2: Some more WIP signature images, not sure if im going to use them straight away or wait for future eps' artwork.

P.s.: anyone knows how to make only a PART of a certain layer lose its color ? the layer to the right on the 2nd WIP - i want to lose the green, and im reluctent to cutting it out and simply greying out the part i could cut.

you could either use the sponge tool to desaturate it by using it like a brush or you could do something easier, go to image > adjustment > replace colour and select the colour you want to replace and the tolerance

here's an example of using it, second one is the original

edit: you can also use selections to edit only specific parts of an image, heres a very edited version of that wallpaper again

Hmm, ill try that in a few. Thanks for the tips Strider (replace color tends to be problametic, its too.. wide-area. tends to target alot of things you dont want aswell as the part you actully want to edit).

The Shots of his plane iv been finding have been really Disappointing, but with Transparencies it might work. im also trying to get a brownish metalic look for the background thats the same as the plane. getin close but havent been able to work that out yet either

i think i did the focusing well on this one, even though theres three images the two on the side blend into the background as does the text, while the middle one with colours other than green shades sticks out a bit. I think your sig is a little busy, theres too much going on for the eye to focus on at once
