Try using nova software extractor and searching for all file types (except txt files)....you shouldn't have to create an iso unless the files are hidden in the game. If you know what file(s) (ie: munge files) you need to scan try using this tool. I know for a fact it works (even on NFSU) -->EA GAMES

tried, but no prevail as the nova extractor just stays there and didn't scan my onimusha3 disk. tried the afs explorer, already got the movie file, but now i'm searching for the movie sound file as pssplex can't find any sound files within the movie file. AFIK, Onimusha3 uses the adx file format. so anyone knows what software i can use to play / convert the file?

Do you know what file(s) you need to scan, or are the files hidden within the cd. I don't own Onimusha 3 so I may not be able to help.

EDIT: Depending on what file type your trying to play you might be able to use this

Are you sure the sound just isn't being played? That's how PSS files are in Media Player Classic. It will play the video fine, but not the audio, even though it is in the file.

Exactly, thats what happens when I extract MPC files from NFSU.

i am sure as because i tried extracting the video and audio files from pssplex and i got only the video file. no audio. and after checking with the cubemediaplayer, i know that the movie uses .adx file format for audio. so now i'm searching for any programs that can extract and convert .adx file to .wav file.

hmm.......how about this.......

1. explore the game disc you wish to extract

2. if it contains any .pss extension file, you best program is to use pssdemux or pssplex. but it extracts the video and sound separately so you have to combine them with some other program.

3. if it contains any .adx or .afs extension file, then you only best bet is the cube media player (http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43980). You can watch the fmv and lots more, but you must register for $15 to extract them. Other program is the afs explorer, but it's kinda hard to use and not user-friendly so i don't include that.

4. if it doesn't contain any .pss or .adx extension file, your best bet is to use GiGaHeRz's FMV Search & Extract Tool, which you can find it here (http://http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55165). but this program extracts the movie. Sometimes the movie plays the sound a bit odd......which means that movie is a .pss file. so go back to step 2. This is the best method i've used anyways.

5. if the game you want to extract is kingdom hearts or Final Fantasy X, the above steps won't work. But luckily there's a fmv extractor for FFX, but none for KH. there is a fmv extractor for KH: Final Mix, but i don't have it so find it yourself.

6. if none of the above steps didn't work in extracting you desired game, then i don't know what format that particular game uses. Or you can use the hard way, the splitting and extracting method which requires an iso and alot of luck. You can find the method here. (http://www.mgforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29627)

now then.......does that help? whew! i think i should write a faq on this. :agree:

wow thnx for fast reply :)
the mini FAQ u wrote was really helpful, but i'm sorry i wasn't more specific, i'm too am just trying to extract the intro movie from onimusha 3 i've tried afs explorer but no idea how to use it, everything turns up in symbols and i can't tell whats what. i also tried scanning it with nova but nothing came up, so i was really curious how you did it.

glad to be at help.

anyway, if you really want the intro movie (and any fmv for that matter) but the only drawback is no sound available as i don't know how to extract them, just follow these steps.

1. open afs explorer
2. open up the image.afs
3. file the file named event113.lev or a file with size of 200MBs.
4. extract the file
5. rename the extension to .pss
6. use the pssplex or the pssdemux to get the video. and done!

that's the only way to get the video only from Onimusha 3. unless you're willing to pay $15 for registration of the Cube Media Player, use this. for other fmvs, just look out for any files which have a big file size. that's how i found the ending movie.

it's an easy to use games media player which currently supports alot of file types. find the info here (http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43980) or better yet the official site (http://www.cubemediaplayer.com/).
