Can someone please tell me why am I not able to even boot FF9?
I've tryed every single diferent plugin combination and configuration but I still can't even boot this game!!!
I've played it with epsxe and didn't had a single problem from the beguining till the end. I've downloaded PSXeven to try it and I got this major disapointment.
My FF9 is an original english (PAL, Uk) game and I have the ppf needed, but I don't know if I need to activate it. I've also tryed creating an iso with clone cd, but it also fails to boot. All I get is a blank (or black) screen with no sound nor image nor any other life activity.
Could someone give me a working config for this game, please?
:(

Have a look at my site (www.lordkane.co.uk). I have a little info on getting the PAL/UK version running.

As I said, I've played FF9 on ePSXe and I had no problem at all...
I know how to use a ppf and I know how to make an iso with subchannel reading...
But I can't find a place on PSXeven to start a ppf... And loading from my iso only gets me a blank screen. Both from "Run ISO" button and from iso reading cd plugins.
I really don't understand what's going on...

please use Pete's CDR plugin if you will be using ppf patches :)

Thanks Xeven... It works!
But I still can only boot from cd...
I wonder if clonecd/read subchannel data method does not work with this emulator? And if create an iso an loaded into a virtual drive, then open it with pete cdr plugin with ppf, will it work? I guess I'll try it...

You have to create a good image. Try Blindwrite or Alcohol 120%.
This worked for me.

you have to create an ISO with subchannel data--thats the most important part. make sure you go to the "game" preset in CloneCD or the "playstation" preset in Alcohol to make a subchannel file
