can i pulg ps2 into my pc video-in?

some of u know that im going to get a ps2 after my exam. my ? is can i use my plug it(ps2) into my pc video-in?u know just like a video camera and play using my monitor. coz i doubt that i'll be able to use our tv that much,hehe. this may be a stu*** ?, but i dont own a ps2 so i dont know much about it. thanks

If you have a TV card you can plug in your PS2 and you would get sound and picture etc. IIRC they are like $60-$100.

For sound...We use an RCA to 3.5mm adaptor...cost around 89 cents or so. We then plug that into the audio-in jack from our regular sound card.

Just make sure if the game has sound settings that you place it on MONO sound

You can get sound those jacks that have both the yellow and red cable inputs. I have one.

Mono sound should not be needed if you use a Y-adoptor

Yes, several different types of Y-adaptor are available. But the one stated above (by me ;) ) is the best solution for soundcard-in. At least when combining from an analog AV-source.

i'm using a y adaptor to output sound from my computer to my stereo system, it comes through in stereo, not mono. i've also used the same adaptor to record stuff that was on tape and convert it to mp3, again, in stereo. it's stereo jack (headphone) at one end and rca plug (a/v) at the other.

Is there a way to get 5.1 out of a ps2 without using the digital in of the drive included in an audigy platinum? (i have the regular version)

You can get Pro-Logic from stereo outputs, but to get 5.1 properly you need an optical connector.

Ok. how can i get dolby prologic? Is there a special software or i will just use my HT? I want it pluged to my pc btw but i can only use the stereo outputs.

Your PS2 would have to be connected to your sounds system I'm afraid.

Yes you can thats what I do for my SFEX3 videos, as well as other videos that I ripped from games, like GGXX or SF3 or HSF2AE for educational purposes, or to check to see the timing of something.
