Have you tried UltraHLE? - the First and one of the best N64 emu outthere.

UltraHLE also ONLY works on a Glide (Voodoo) based cards. Maybe you should give it a try.

yes UltraHLE its the best emu for play zelda OOT. but if u wanna play zelda 2 use pj64 1.3 its really great

Yup, UltraHLE runs Zelda OoT PERFECTLY. I finished the game twice, and there were no problems(at least I don't remember). You have a Voodoo3, so it will run very well, but don't forget to get the voodoo3 fix for UltraHLE. btw, some people say that pj runs Zelda64 very well, just as good as UltraHLE. I don't know, I have a too slow computer for pj.

very strange, i run both zelda games perfecton pj64 at 60fps.(just minor probs like the item screen)

for older computers it seems that ultra hle is the best choice. maybe you should also try messing with the plugins and their settings in pj64.

UltraHLE is Great , the only Problem is the sound (on Zelda) !!

Erm its been a while now but if I recall correctly Ultrahle had bugs with the glide2x.dll file that came with the voodoo 3. If you are using Ultrahle then you'll need to d/l the drivers for the Voodoo banshee and copy the glide2x.dll file contained within them to the directory into which you installed the emu.

Just download the UltraHLE Voodoo3 Fix.

404: Yes, UltrHLE only supports Glide, but you can always use Glide Wrappers for non-3dfx cards.

Ahem the Voodoo3 Fix IS this file:p. However it overwrites the copy which is located in the windows\system directory hence it can cause problems in other programs. That is why I recommened the above method instead.

First of all what video card you got? If it's not a voodoo card, then you need to get a glide wrapper.

Ok Glide wrappers , There are many and some are really good , but they are old and can't take the best out of the emu !

Zephon

Glide wrappers are not that bad. eVoodoo is still in development, and some of them were specially made to work with UltraHLE.

If you care to read Project 64's docs, you'll see that Voodoo 3's aren't in it's recommended video cards list.. meaning you're likely to find bugs with it.

I heard somewhere that you can fix this problems by playing with the Direct3D settings using a tweaking tool, so you can try asking in a N64-related board for more information.

Badaro is right. People download a tweak utility called DirectControl and inside the D3D options they disable AGP Texturing or something like that. Most people have a HUGE speed improvement. You should try it.

Actually you don't need to d/l anything to disable AGP texturing. This can be done with dxdiag (which comes with directx). To run it simply type dxdiag into the run dialog box.

Zephon

The only n64 emu that requires a voodoo card is UltraHLE. All the others you can play without 3dfx, if you have a decent card. Try pj64 and try several different plugins to see which one works the best for you. And stop posting the same question in every section of the forum.

ok to clear things up for people:

1) pj64 1.3 runs most games ever made on the n64 pretty darn well
2) all the info u could eva possibly need about the emu is on smiffs site at www.smiff.clara.net (then go to the project64 section), but just to clear things u basically need a minimum of about 500-600 mhz processeur and almost essentially an NVIDIA type card or ATI Radeon, and 128 ram. if u do not hav these requirements then u will not be able to take advantage of the emu, and if u visit the emutalk.net forums ull see how popular the damn thing is.

Note: Voodoo 3-5 users can use pj64 using the fix in Mr.Bollywoods Directcontrol, but u will still get visual probs like the original bloke who started this thread showed. if u want to see decent screenshots of the emu in action go to smiffs site, or pj64.net, or alternatively email me and ill send a pic of th emu in action (ive got a lot of roms).

Smiffs site has a compat. list which is pretty damn accurate considering almost all beta testers (donators to pj64) contributed to giving the compat. experiences with pj64 1.3. (thanks mainly to bodie and mojo123 for that).

also, uhle is pretty much dead, there are about 10 games that actually do work well, although for voodoo users and peopl who want to play goldeneye, uhle is the emu to use. (goldeneye is working on pj64 very well iin pj64, but not as good as uhle, same for zelda OoT, in regards to the start screen bug). pj64 1.4 might very well hav full support for perfect dark, among other big games. as for pj64 1.3 u can even play conkers bad fur day to the end.

hope that settles peoples probs.

ok try either pj64 or 1964. both can play the game, although there are many bugs, i believe some1 has completed the game on 1964. if i were u wait for the next release of 1964 (the authors seem to like thisgame), or pj64 1.4 (this could be ages though).
