my 2 cents .. or pence being in the uk. I don't think emulation projects really causes any harm. Especially projects that let you play legitimate games anyway.. like psx emu. And in the case of the xbox i dont know why microsoft never made the damn thing compatable with directx/win32 in the 1st place. Would have been cool to have a console, where the games worked on a pc as well.

I don't think it does harm as such but I don't doubt there is an effect. When a console is chipped *and* an emulator is available that can play non copied games then the emulator *cannot* harm the game developers. After all anyone that wants to copy games can still play them with or without the emulator and needs a cd burner ( and hence a computer) to copy them. However when the same disk can be played on a pc it becomes harder for Microsoft/sony etc to justify the £5-£10 levy they put on each cd for their console.
