the schibo plugin that comes with 1964 is the only plugin that actually works correctly for me--meaning it actually has sound and the timing is fine. however, it's pretty crackly and the effects arent the correct volumes.
so everyone recommends Azimer's audio 0.40...which used to work perfectly. i reformatted my computer 2 days ago and now it just goes really, really choppy and the sound is messed up to boot.
i have a Soundblaster Audigy and im using the 35.34 KX drivers for it.

Have you tried Jabo's DirectSound plugin or version 0.50 of Azimer's plugin?

I've got the same problem. The other plugins produce NO sound for me, however.

I get crackly audio with 1964 no matter what aswell, using PJ64 solves the problem though. :)
I never really use 1964 much.. it just doesn't feel as streamlined as PJ64 does. :p

I was playing Mario Kart 64 earlier today (great game :D) on 1964 and I had crackly audio as well. I tried 2 sound plugins and several graphics plugins (Glide64+eVoodoo, Direct64 alpha, Rice's Daedalus, and Jabos's DX6) but the problem was still there. I'll try PJ64 tomorrow :).

I get no sound probs in 1964. have u tried using the rsp.dll from project64 and enabling it in 1964. and use a different audio plug-in like Azimer's and enabling 'sync sound to game' thats solves the audio probs for me

I did try the "Sync sound to game" option and it didn't fix it. I have the rsp.dll file in 1964 because I can choose the RSP plugin. Other than that, 1964 runs great :D.

nope, none of htose things work, no matter waht plugin combination i try. i even changed my drivers to real Creative drivers.
it's also strange that the exact same plugins that worked before my reformat dont work after. it's even messed up in Project64. i dont think the plugin is corrupted since i have redownloaded it.

I tried Mario Kart with Project 64 and the popping and crackling went away but every time it transitioned screens (like driver select to cup select) there was a pause.
