Final Fantasy X Demo [SCED 50642] (Came with FF6 (PSOne))
The end in-game shot can only be produced via hitting 'end' (I assume vram?), menus don't fade in and out and the menu screen is way to bright, but given it's a new plugin, nice.
This was tested on my GF's 1.7GHz / GeForce4 MX 440 / 256MB ram / DX9 / Using 45.23 drivers.
Testing produces similiar (but faster results) on my Dual AMD64 / GeForce5 5900u / 1GB ram / DX9 / current drivers.

As you can see there is a problem with the graphics showing properly. Also there is nothing shown ingame unless you hold down End (it doesn't run smooth, it seems to skip a lot of frames to try to catch up with the rendering), and it doesn't run at 45fps.

Right a few of things... 1 I cant test the plugin itself because my computer doesnt like PCSX2 sp everytime I try to load it, it crashes before anything happens 9I have tried redowloading it and different plugins but nothing). But this looks promising.
I didnt know that PS2 emulators will be able to play PS1 roms. I still dont know but from judging by the snapshots of some BIOS screens people seem to get the PS1 logo come up.
BEATS OF RANGE... THAT IS THE BEST HOMEBREW GAME I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY EMU BASED LIFE.
CKemu
April 26th, 2004, 18:12
The PS1 logo is part of the BIOS screen as the PS2 supports PSOne games, that logo was not produced from testing a PSOne game! ;)
PSOne ROMS? erm no, PS1 CD's or PS1 ISOs. They didn't have roms, roms are chips of Read Only Memory, eg consoles like the SNES, NES, Mega Drive.

Very nice shots people. Some of them raised a few questions.
Every bios I tested has different look from my own in my real ps2 machine (pal, 30004R, V5 I think), the cubes on the opening screen mainly. It looks all the same even with CKemu's freshly dumped bios.
Han-mut: How were you able to pass the loading screen? It stops responding to keypresses there for me. If I just leave the main title screen for a minute, a demo loads with a battle scene :)
About the rendering speed, I'm afraid there isn't much room for improvement left. The bottleneck is either the high number of vertices, in this case pcsx2 itself is slow, or the constant reloading of the textures in a stupid way what only the bandwith of a real ps2 can tolerate in real time. Good example is the beginning of wild arms where each character is uploaded one by one onto the top left corner of a 1024x1024 texture before being rendered, this basically instructs the plugin to reupload the whole texture several times there, making it crawl like a turtle. Another one is the plasm tunnel demo, only two textures used but they are overwriting eachother in every frame.
CKemu
April 26th, 2004, 20:18
During my testing I have found several games that do not work, yet work under GSmax / GSsoft:
Street Fighter EX3
WTA Tennis (can't now go in-game)
Police 24/7
Also I cannot get 'Carshowroom" to run (by sjeep).
Obviously your plugin has many un-implimented features, But I do note that FFX's intro shows more under your plugin, though the image (see FFXdemo shots) is too bright.
Also under SBaM whilst the game runs, with a few odd glitches (main menu / borders around textures) the characters / bubbles do not show in-game, thus rendering it fast / pretty, but un-playable.
Fantastic work on your part I must say, greatly impressed, and to the general users out there, this is what a 'legit' project looks and reads like, genuine evidence, work, no "I coded 20 lines of C++ OMG LOL WTF ME EMU AUTHOR ME LĢĢT!!!!!!1211!1!11".

The new plugin is great, here's a few screenshots i've got from Pro Evolution Soccer 2, Who wants to be a millionaire? 2 and FIFA 2004. Not much but ill explain below..
Everyone else on here seems to be able to get in game on some games, yet I think the reason I cant get further than these screens is because the games think no controller is plugged in (see 'Millionaire' shot) Also, as the PCSX2 forum is closed, I was wondering if anyone here can tell me how to clear my PCSX2 settings from the registry? I did this once with an older version but now I cant find the settings. I want to do this because, for some reason, if I have the recompiler enabled under CPU options, it always crashes :???: So i have to set to 'disable recompiler',which is much slower (this is on an Athlon 2400XP, 512MB DDR - I can use the recompiler no problem on my old Athlon 1600XP, 512MB PC133! So why should it crash?)
Cheers

Silent Scope is working/looking great. Finally this game is showing 3D, and the 2D looks way better than any other plugin has shown. The only problem is that the crosshair doesn't show which makes the game quite hard to play.

If you are talking about crashes when Petes sound plug-in is used I had same problem. Try to delete all PCSX2 register entries and redownload PCSX2 archive - only this helped me, something was probably wrong with registers. BTW same thing happened on other comp I used (pretty different by OS and hardware).

Try delete all PCSX2 registry entries and redownload PCSX2 archive, it helped me, maybe it's your case too.

No screen before press start screen. Emu crashes out just before the press start screen. But last night it went by to ingame but only once. Tried it a few more times and it kept crahing out. I would of thought if it was a plugin bug it would crash all the time. But it worked once without changing any settings. and I know its not the emu cause the game works with other plugins. Apart from what you said above I haven't been able to find out yet, but is it just me that can't get pad buttons to work in any games? A lot of them hang on the "memory card not inserted, are you sure you want to start the game?" type-screens, and im wondering is this because of no memory card support, or it thinks no pad is plugged in, or both? Like I have some games I try which say the pad is not conected, asking to plug one in. Sorry if its already been explained but i must of missed it :)

More shots of the Street Fighter EX 3 intro, using GSdx9 0.2, after the "press start button" screen.
My pads can't work too. And I want so much to press start button... :)
Restoring a save state mess up with the colors/textures.
The fps is the same regardless the window size. (max 10fps in 3D bios, max 2 fps in 3D game)
Anyone know what the space key does?
When I press and hold it, the next frame (I think) is sloooowly repainted, but it fixed the "big transparent shadow" graphic glitch at the "press start button" screen.
EDIT:
Added the 2 last shots holding the space key.
I think they are more nitid (and more emulation accurate?) because at the end of the frame drawing the whole image receive a blur (I don't know if it is the transparency gfx bug or part of the game). This 2 last shots was taken before this blur.

Enable Patches (checked)

Disable recompiler (unchecked)

I should be able to test it on a GeForce 2 GTS within an hour, I'll edit this post with my results later.
EDIT: I've tried Ys on the GeForce 2 GTS and those glitches aren't there, but the border also doesn't show(all black, just the numbers and life bar show), though the text boxes did show and they didn't glitch like on my radeon. Some other differences that I noticed, the main menu wasn't transparent on the geforce where as on the radeon it was and ingame on the geforce was much darker than on the radeon.
New screens of Silent Scope, the scope works now :thumb:. In the last screen it's supposed to be dark and the scope acts as night vision. Also, the scope is supposed to move around on the screen, but it doesn't.

Ok, everybody see and knows that is a Very Good plugin. But nobody put the configuration is using!!!
Dx9=?
Disable Recompiler=Checked?
Disable VU Recompile=Checked?
Enable RegCache=Checked?
Pathes=?
...
And that is a important information for others (like me) who want to know "What Is wrong?".
Thank you ALL!!! :thumb:
Sorry about my poor english

May 5th, 2004, 04:25
WHOPODER!!!, since this is a dx9 plugin, it's obvious that you need dx9 to make it run, also, VU Recompile currently has no effect (just keep it checked, unchecking it will most likely just prevent the emu from running), RegCaching doesn't work (yet), and patches are only to skip videos :p
So, the only really important settings in the PCSX2 configuration are the Recompiler/Interpreter setting, and the pad hack. ;)

My gamepad doesn't work for some reason... even in bios, any button I press nothing works... help!
somehow a pad bug came on prior to the release of version 0.6. during the betatesting stage of the emu, the pads are working fine i can even go and pick characters on WWF SMACKDOWN! JBI, but when the release was made the pads now seem not to be working properly just like on the betatesting stage, now i can only go as far as the memcard check screen and i can't pass it due to the pad bug. but anyways the pcsx2 authors are looking onto this. it might be fixed as the development goes on. just wait for the next release.

Nope, it's not. I tried a couple DVD's (Jurassic Park III, Planet of The Apes, all of the LOTR movies). All of them.. the bios ran, and then nothing but a black screen. :(

May 6th, 2004, 03:19

AFAIK, there's no plan to include DVD playback capability, gamming, that's all there is to PCSX2, and it's already hard enough.

The SCPH-10,000 Has no DVD player coded within it, infact the 10,15,18K had no DVD player support, unless added from an upgrade stored from your memcard.
As for future BIOS's whilst they are emulated to an extent, I don't believe there will be DVD playback emulated, though I personally would argue for it as to make the emuation more 'accurate' but as they say, there are bigger fish to fry.
Cooliscool: Curiousity killed the cat, but if you must know PM me on IRC at some time, or something, I'm trying to put an end to this subject matter, though I'm powerless to do anything about it, this is offtopic, and should NOT be continued here.

i dont see the point in emulating dvd movie playback on a ps2 emulator, if your that desperite to watch a dvd on your pc download powerdvd demo or buy the full one or something, emulating a console should be for the purpose of emulating their main use, which in this case (and many others) playing games.

Just a quick question: Why are the FPS percentages out of 50 fps? Is that full speed rather than 60 fps?
50fps is for PAL (Europe)
60fps is for NTSC (American continent/Japan)
Maybe Gabest is from Europe ;)

6.92fps, which is 27% of the total speed, that's out of 25.5. But, the question was already answered, i'm guessing pgen was designed to run at 25.5fps... so it doesn't matter much anymore.

Press Print Screen then open up paint, paste the image and save.

Pcsx2 - 424 frames delay (black screen) before bios start
PS2emu - 112 frames
bes U could try FRAPS. it has a bindable screenshot button.
