first off i've been dloading anbu subbed naruto episodes off kazaa. surprise surpirise its taking FOREVER. i have nearly all the episodes now, like all of them up to 54 and after that im only missing a few. except 28. you see number 28, well im not sure about it. i think its just a rumour, it doesnt exist does it? it was fast at first then after the first 90mb it just stopped. not moving for like 3 weeks. i decided that im not gonna skip an episode cause it'll screw stuff up.
today i pleeded to a freind to send it to me via msn, he sends me a link to a torrent site that i had been to when i started dloading them. figure why not, start the torrent download. so i consider telling him "yes i have been to www.google.com you know" but i dont, cause i notice the torrent download is moving!!! HAHAHA!!! it was moving at 30kB down, 25kB up. but i didnt care about the upload (i only get a certain amount of traffic a month) cause it was actually uploading, with speed. i was happy as. seriously, i was astonished. so i go on a 2 hour walk (i need to lose weight) come back....... 95%......... 40kB up........ 0kB down. so its sitting there... waiting for sum1 to come along and share the last 5% of the file. its been there for 3 days. ive uploaded like1gB of data.
/me breaks down, cries a bit. and breaks a vcr in half with his bare hands (and a table)
hey no big deal right! its missing the last 5% of the file. i'll just open it in media player and forget the last minute or whatever of the outro. oh great, it doesnt work. fine i'll try divx player. cool no sound, cant skip forward. im not gonna look any further with this app. open it with avipreview. cool its working!!! yay!!! 1:01 later... at the very start of the episode. guess what. it FREEZES. i jump up, swear really loud. break a vcr in a fit of rage. i investigate further. it appears its missing the part of the video straight after the intro.
and i cant skip past that. so... i have 165mb of it. its there. i cant watch it. and i cant download any more from kazaa. it appears everyone using the torrent file im using is in the same delemma, lots of seeds with the first 95% of it. kazaa is never gonna put out. what to do... what to do.... hmmmm.
/me opens wardrobe
/me fetches katana
/me fetches vcr
/me strings vcr off a tree
/me cuts the vcr in half and screams really loud
what the hell is going on? seriously? wtf is up with this? im running out of pateince and vcrs. and i bent my friken katana. the neighbours think im insane. and if i skip this episode ill spend the next 6 trying to figure out wtf is going on.
please help me... somebody. im desperate. :( :( :cry

How long is that serie? I have 49 episodes... Oh, I have the 28 but I got these from a friend, because I only have 56kb modem, that isn't working that fine either...
WindHydra

I downloaded 1-78 at once, then waited a week to get 79, and another to get 80...
It's probably weekly.

I can barely turn out one good drawing a day.
Radix865
April 22nd, 2004, 09:03
I draw daily, but most of them goes straight to trashcan... oh yeah, bahamuth, you said you don't have 28, like I said, I have that but I don't have 29... But the strange thing is when I start 30 it's continues straight where 28 ended... is it the same with your 27-29?
Bahamut_Xero
April 22nd, 2004, 09:26
yeah theres is some major numbering errors with those ones. my 27 and 28 are EXACTLY the same episode. i think there was a double episode before it that was only numbered as 1 episode. i gotta check it all (ughhhh).
edit:
yep, number 26 is also episode 27. yet on kazaa its been labeled as only 26, then the next couple are messed up as the names are fixed.

the file was dead, bittorrent doesnt download files in chronological order. doesnt matter, its all sorted. through the thread a bit, i already tried avipreview ;)

Stop messing around with kazaa and use eMule (http://www.emule-project.net/) instead if you want more sources.
I believe I have 1-50 from the TW fansub group.
ChaosBlade

Or simply use BitTorrent where the groups themself disturb their releases.

yeah i found a site with direct downloads for all the episodes now. i know about emule, you can defeinately tell where they got the idea for the name "mule" but that might just be my location. bittorrent is nice, but im scared of being in the situation i was in before. im trying to stick with all anbu-anoe releases as well, i know bakasan does an absolute ass of a job compared to anbu. the idea of the words coming up after they say it, then disapearing in under half a second, and somehow being expected to read it without having to pause evry 5 seconds a little stupid to me.
ChaosBlade
April 25th, 2004, 15:51
ANBU & AonE indeed do a better job, there's no question about it. But quality takes time, and the ANBU\AonE release comes a bit later then bakasan's .

Depends on how you look at it according to GMT . afaik, HERE (gmt +2) it aires at wedensday. if you are right and it is tuesday, then AonE sure take their sweet time on every ep >.<

*Shakes head in disapointment* Kazaa? for Anime? Kazaa? For Anything?
You should have downloaded through the batch torrents to begin with. :p But then again not everyone is clued in on the best ways to Dl.
PS. Bakasan Sucks!!
ChaosBlade

The other group, Shin-Otaku, are even worse. they dont even do their own subbing - they use Inane's Subtitles from the manga release ! >.<

Bakasan's quality may be poor, but the speed at which the files come out is not to be sneezed at.
WindHydra
April 26th, 2004, 17:19
What's wrong with Bakasan anyway? It's not like you are going to memorize all the dialogs anyway  Knowing what's happening is good enough ;)
ChaosBlade

Because its a story .. id like to understand the plot of a serie im watching.
His quality bites the dust .. Being quick is his only plus, which doesnt mean anything to me at least.
WindHydra
April 26th, 2004, 19:11
His quality bites the dust? There isn't too much difference between [ANBU & AonE] and Bakasan... You should just go learn Japanese if you want the true story
ChaosBlade
April 26th, 2004, 20:15
His quality isnt near ANBU\AonE in my opinion .. ****ed up filesizes too sometimes.

bakasan?

April 27th, 2004, 10:44
Yes, Baka-San. He is a one-man group, he does all the release himself. maybe thats why it looks like that ..

they should team up. be like adel and rinoa in ff8. the speed of bakasan and the perfection of anbu
*Shakes head in disapointment* Kazaa? for Anime? Kazaa? For Anything?
You should have downloaded through the batch torrents to begin with. But then again not everyone is clued in on the best ways to Dl.whats wrong with kazaa? it does the job right 99% of the time. why waste time looking for torrents, using like 400mb in upload ever time (my usage is limited) when i can get it from kazaa. im not a total moron, i just want it then and there and dont want to muck around with switching nodes with dc++/emule and searching through a million pornsites just to find one damn episode. i can only get them at 32kbp/s max anyway. You should just go learn Japanese if you want the true story am i being told the rong words by the translation team. i know occasionally they will swap a few words around so it makes sense and is more interesting to read and dont mind that, but are they actually like changing things heaps or something (for instance did hinata ask naruto to touch her ass and it trans to "have a cupcake")

Baka-san's releases aren't terrible. He does make a few minor translation errors in the show, but the main thing that bugs me about his release, and thus the reason whey I keep the Anbu ones, is becasue the quality of his encode is so crap. It's not as bad as the old VHS rips, but it ain't anywhere near the usual quality of the Japanese TV rips we see fansubbed.
As for Kazaa. The reason I personaly hate it for anime is the number of fakes that appear. Finding torrents for new files is unbelievably easy. Hell just chuck 'bittorrent anime' at google, and I'm sure you'll get the sites you need in the first couple of links. Futhermore, you don't need to keep switching servers in eMule. You don't need to seach through 1001 pr0n sites to find the links. Most of the otakus on this board know the one site you need for anime on eMule.
As for low quality translations..... Anime-Junkies are traditionaly the most guilty of this. AJ subs were always out unbelievably fast, with a superb quality encode. The problem was that the translation oft left something to be desired. A famous gaff of thiers is in GitS: SAC where someone says 'frequent kidnapings', and AJ subbed it as 'mass naked child events'. The fact of the matter is that most of the gaffs are minor, and if you watch much anime, you'll pick up on the mistakes and correct them yourself.

AJ .. good riddence.

At the end of the day you can either go for Quality or Speed(Sometimes there is both), but I tend to go for quality. I prefer to have an accurate translation so I'm sure I haven't missed something and a decent encode is always nice.

> At the end of the day you can either go for Quality or Speed(Sometimes there is both),
Quality of course... its good to watch a high quality anime and wait for quite sometime. Me, it took me more than 6 months to get the whole series of Love Hina, but its worth it ;)
