Is there anyway to get Thousand arms to work decently,it always freezes in the
first scene...Any ideas? :(

This is a common problem, you should consider using the search feature before asking next time. Anyway, here's a cut-and-past from a previous post on this issue.

Try this:
- Disable SPU IRQ hack in the main emu
- Use Peops' SPU or Eternal SPU
- Enable SPU IRQ-Related option in the plugin only

Misc:
- Scanlines: off [0]
- Unfiltered FB: on
- Dithering: off
- Screen smoothing: off
- Full vram: off
- Game fixes: on [00000000]

and attached are my spu settings and the point just prior to the game freezing (note, the sound plays on- it locks as the speech finishes)
