I think this is the upcoming DreamMix TV: World Fighters game which is a "Super Smash Bros" Type game involving characters from Bomberman, Castlevania, Beyblade, Bloody Roar, Transformers, Twinbee (known as Stinger in English), and Momotarou Dentetsu, among others.
Literally all 1980's characters.
Its being developed by Konami, Takara, and Hudson.

Eh, it looks like it could go either way. The characters are good (though where is Goemon!? A secret character I hope, also, it has the guy from Kabuki Klash; very interesting), but it all comes down to how the combat is handled. It seems to have a pretty interesting "Adventure Mode" (at least that is what Simon(? or whichever Belmont) Belmont's screen shots looked like.

Looks interesting. I think Optimus Prime is a great choice but I wouldn't mind seeing Omega Supreme, Megatron, and Grimlock in there also. Anybody remember them? Of course against Omega Supreme none of the others would have a chance. At least IMHO they wouldn't.

Samor, your choices sound quite good also.
But, if we are thinking of others that we would like to see added, then how about Voltron (the original made out of Lions), the Constructicons as the big robot they joined together to form (they were the ones that destroyed all of Omega Supreme's race except for him), He-Man, Sheera (He-Man's sister), Skeletor, and Orko? Interesting to say the least IMHO.

And if you were going to add more Transformers, why not Unicron? He could play the Boss role a la Master Hand/Crazy Hand from SSB. And STARSCREAM!!!! Bwahahah! (They rereleased a die-cast version of my beloved Starscream with the Robots in Diguise series of transformers; but alas, they dubbed it a "collector's edition" and charged $40 bucks for it. The dream died that day...)

Kraiger Drago, you are correct. :) Devastator is who I was thinking of. All of the Constructicons combined to form him. But he was still no match for Omega Supreme, but then who was? Not even Grimlock could take him, though he thought he could.

well, a fighting game featuring transformers or a number of other famous cartoons from that era would be nice ;)

If it's going to be 'clash of the super robots', you'd have a nice line up:
omega supreme, devastator, menasor, superion, bruticus, defensor, abominus, and computron.
then you could have trypticon, metroplex, fortress maximus and scorponok as boss characters, heh.

I must admit I had to look some of the names up, but I used to be quite the transformer fan. I don't have any of my toys anymore though (except for all the throttlebots ;) ); I always wanted to be able to transform the toys as fast as they did in the cartoon, and that broke most of 'em ;)

If they made a Mechwarrior caliber game with the Transformers Universe, that would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than just a fighting game. Use vehicle mode to get from point to point/scout areas, etc, then go to bot mode for close combat. Etc, etc. Since the Transformers are having a rebirth will all the new toys and cartoons and funny books, HOPEFULLY some good developer will scoop them up for a full fledged release.

I thought the Robots In Disguise series was alright. Though it did annoy me that Optimus was a FIRETRUCK fer chrissakes. Transformers Armada completely sucks enourmous concrete donkey balls though. I mean WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY annoying children... ugh.

The robots are pretty cool though. I kinda like how Megatron is a tank now; its A LOT more intimidating than a Walther P38. Some of the predacons, like the shark, was pretty nice-looking. A couple of the jets are nice as well. So maybe they use the Current incarnation of the bots with the ability to unlock G1 characters/models.
