I'm still going to buy, but I'm sad that the PC version has been leaked out to the public by 5 days before its release... :(

Why does that make you mad? It's probably all buggy anyways.

You never know, some people might just decide to download instead of buy(cheap ********) shich will hurt sales and might prompt the studio to not develop a "next chapter" in PoP.

this happens with about half of the pc game releases, why is this such a big deal? If it wasn't leaked 5 days early, it would have been released the day it came out anyways. There isn't a pc game this day that isn't pirated. And if it's buggy, it's not because it was leaked. It's the full retail version, and blame the makers of pop if it's buggy, not the leak.

>>And if it's buggy, it's not because it was leaked.

Actually its probably really either an alpha your getting or a pre release test version. If it released 5 days before anyone else gets it ...

I don't think it will affect that huge amount of sales if people do the right thing. ;)

well, theres nothing you can do about it really. every big game gets leaked before its out and every game eventually gets pirated. don't worry though, they'll still make their money's worth.

A true fan will support a company. Like your a FF Fan buy the game and the money goes to square-enix.

So if you think this game is cool than for god sakes buy it!

I don't think it will affect that huge amount of sales if people do the right thing. ;)that's not entirely true. Any pre releases released by deviance, fairlight, immersion, or razor1911 to name a few, are retail versions (they only do retails, and if they didn't the release would be instantly cut from circulation halting any progress of getting out anywhere, PoP was not). They have people that get it from storerooms, magazine joints, the publishers themselves, etc. Remember, releases typically go gold a month before the game is released. When it goes gold, development, bugtesting, everything is over, and the build they have is final and gets shipped off to be mass produced. So they really have a MONTH to get the final retail version, which has happened before, but it's very rare.

But regardless of any of this, my original point was that while this isn't exactly an event to go nuts over, it's a perfectly normal thing in the warez scene, and isn't really worth singling out as some kind of atrocity. Just deal with it.

It's no big deal these days. Just look at Halo

Razor Blade

It's not even that great of a port if you ask me. I have seen way better ones.

Exodus

even more of a reason for hackage then. :/

Indeed it is. Some companies just don't deserve money. :p

i actually thought halo was one of the better ports that are out...now nightfire...that was a bad port...

Halo is a bad port only in the performance aspect. Even with really high specs you cannot get too much ouf it, with all setting on max.

But IMO the game is quite fun as it is. The only issue is performance, like I said.

halo's port added hardly anything besides the online multiplayer, which proved to be less than stellar due to the 16 player limit and the crappy maps. The extra weapons weren't too great, but the rocket warthog was cool. Add this to the performance issue, and you got yourselves a sub-par port. Halo was a console fps, and greatly inferior the best pc FPSs. If they bothered to better suit it for the pc, it would have been much better.

I agree; performance aside, it's a really nice game.

For the time it took them to port it they should have added more though.

adding more would have just taken more time :p...and i like the game how it is because i don't have an x-box...just like another FPS to add to my collection

Exodus

'just another shooter'... possibly the best discription for it. ;)

BTW Halo runs at 800x600 OK on my PC, Yes there are better games, like the NFSU, Iīve heard it will run smoothly even on a GF2MX200 32mb, itīs well programmed

By the time halo reached PC, it was nothing revolutionary. The ai has probably been surpassed, vehicle combat isn't anything new, as are large expanded areas. In fact, by the time halo came to the PC, it offered just about nothing. As exodus said, it's nothing new, just another fps.

hey , halo wasn't that bad . (i mean pc port)

the worst pc port ever was FFVIII .

and may be Resident Evil : Survivor (because the original game was bad :) )
