Counterstrike help

I bought a copy of Half-Life Best Seller Edition and I wanna install counterstrike but which 1 do I get? I saw several different versions of Counterstrike for download of the internet.

First you will need the 1.1.1.0 patch, then you have download the latest version of CS which is 1.5 (unless you want to try 1.6)...

What are the major differences between 1.5 and 1.6?

1.6 has new weapons/guns like the riot shield. These guns make the game totally unbalanced so most people still play 1.5

hasn't WON been taken down now? if you'll only be able to play 1.5 through allseeingeye or gamespy.
but as long as they keep patching it, they'll fix any of the unbalances.

Last time I checked, WON was still working, although there was only 4,000-4,500 servers on there (used to be about 20,000).

sonicfoot, just download steam and get CS1.6....people complain about it but...thats what everyone is going to

CS 1.5 until they put bots and fix 1.6

I doubt that all the ppl are moving to 1.6... as a matter of fact, ppl haven't done anything else but complain about that version of the mod. AFAIK 1.5 will remain for a really long while as the standard CS version.
