For some reason, in VBA 1.6a and 1.7-beta, I'm getting severe slowdown in ROMs. My PC can handle the ROMs, the speed is always at or close to 100%.
In Metroid Fusion, fighting most of the bosses causes the whole game to slow down and for the sound to break up. It's like the GBA CPU is being overloaded, but I know this shouldn't be happening.
Mario Kart Super Circuit does similar, the sound doesn't break up, but the game slows down whenever I get an item like three shells. I hate to think what would happen on the more intense courses.
From what I can remember, these problems didn't occur in VBA 1.5.1 but have suddenly appeared for version 1.6a.
Does anyone else have any similar problems?
