One of the layers in Gem Smashers has a rather annoying flickering issue. I have tried adjusting frameskip (tried 0, 2, and 9) and turning the speed toggle on/off, but neither has any effect on the flickering. I currently have a few cheat codes, but I experienced the flickering from the moment I first loaded the game, long before I put in any cheats.
Which graphics layer does ctrl+5 toggle? Whichever one it is, that's the one that's flickering.

I don't see a problem but you are running version 1.6 which has bugs. The current version is 1.6a.

I just tried 1.6a and the flickering is gone.
I usually don't bother downloading interim releases such as the 1.6beta, 1.6, and 1.6a situation because there are only a few differences between each and usually the differences aren't anything I notice.

Whethe you notice a difference or not, there is a reason for the releases. It is usually fixing some problems.

I cannot help users who insist in running old versions. I keep trying to make it better and better with time. To you it may seem like small changes, but that's why VBA is where it is today.

It is mostly stable and there a minor issues with its GBA emulation, like timing and some hardware inconsistencies.

Fixes timing is a important task... Vboy1.7b runs now Banjoo e Hamtaro perfectly...
