Don't know why not. It's made to work with standard Audio CDs. I thought all Audio CDs had one format though?

it should work seeing virtua fighter 4 was coded in mode-1 (you would still need a modchip to boot copies though)

Audio CD's are RAW/2352 sector type CD's.
Virtua Fighter 4..hmmm...that's a check....
how...got to think harddddd....I know the PCSX2 team can help me in this...Coz i'll soon join the emu scene after I'll finish my graduation...

I think it has to be in mode 2/XA. If you look at the readme files for any of the homebrewn apps, such as the emulators or the ps2 reality player, it states that the cd has to be burned in mode 2/XA.

Well, I thought you meant Audio CDs, they don't seem to have different modes. As for Mode 1 and Mode 2, that would be a matter of coding a program to read those types of CDs, I think. If the PS2 can read a CD in RAW mode, then I would think the mode doesn't matter.

I do have a clue how to do it, but there are numerous problems keeping me away from doing anything...like the hardware programming language limitation for the PS2...
I know one thing that if you want to play a VCD/Mode-1/MP3's on a PS2 you have to emulate the sector(directory)structure of the CD...Well alot more complex than that but...
The mode is a big problem...!!!
