Yup, I bet most of you dont even know about the existance of this game, but I cant blame you at all. After playing all the SNES, NES and PSX versions of captain Tsubasa, this one is the best of them, hands down. Unlike the others, this game goes in the same storyline like the anime, heck there is always a cutscene before and after a game. The basis gameplay from the NES and SNES versions stay the same, and the graphics just look superb.
Its a shame to see that this particular game didnt get the same attention like its PSX and SNES versions,....this game is a gem by all means
here are some screenshots

me too :p Its still going on though,...there are two Tsubasa titles to be released on the GBA and the PSX. It will be produced by Konami this time, so I am expecting some major improvements from the previous PSX version :p
Here are some screenshots from the Sega CD version for your pleasure. So far this game never failed to impress me :)

I finished it yesterday. It was exciting from the beginning to the end ^_^. This type of games is a sport/rpg. You need to level up your players and gain more experience in order to proceed throughout the game. I am suprised that people here dont give it much attention and they claim that they are " RPG fanatics". Despite the fact its in japanese the controls are very simple and easy to understand.

Well, I'm one of those rare non-RPG-players :D
There were quite a few such football titles on Famicom (don't ask me to name them tho, haha). I understand how to play them, just didn't understand the appeal of these games.

Indeed, its very good looking. I dont like how they went over his beginings in the first episodes, but its quite good :) I think there at least 24 episodes on the net, but there should be more , eventually ;)

Well I ve seen the following: ( here s a quick summary)
Captain Tsubasa Part 1 : When he was in Junior High School. This was the beginning for him where he met Roberto, Hyuga, Wakabasbshi (sp?- goal keeper :p ) and the others....He participated in the junior tornamnet and got the first place in the finals against Hyuga but his coach roberto left
Part2 : He is in high school now, and is the only hope for his team to get the national high school tornament in Japan. He meets new challangers ( I cant remember thier names, but I can recall the two twins, The big defender (n#5) ). Ofcourse, he fought hard against Hyuga in the finals (again? :p) and it ended in a draw ( that finals game was like 15 episodes :D) . They form the japanese youth team and thats the end of that part
Part3: Goes over Part1 from the begining to the end, then focuses on Tsubasa when he was with Sao Paulo, and the other guy when he was in Inter Milan ( i keep forgetting his name...damn >_<) . After tha, they join the Japanese Youth Team, who barely garanteed a ticket to the next set of matchs in order to reach the Youth World Cup finals. The series end here
Part4 ( Road to 2002): ( I v seen the first 2 BTW)...it goes over Part 1 again!!! ....*sigh*...but for my pleasure, the animations look excellent and they seem to introduce the storyline in a much better manner. I presume that they ll continue the 3rd part....but the series look promising :)
Personally, I prefer the 2nd part ( It was excellent) but the 4rth part ( road to 2002) Looks great, and maybe better than the 2nd part,..who knows? ;)

I can remember when Tsubasa got hurt and he insisted to play even if he borke his leg completely OO ,( Part2)
The story in Part 2 was at the best. If you wish, I can give you the bit torrent website I download to get the 4th Part.
Note: Admins, if you have anything against that, then do say so ..
