FpsE is like an emulator for ePSXe.

FPSë never did anything better than other emus for me.

FPSE is a curiosity, as far as I'm concerned, nothing more. Better than bleem!, but miles behind ePSXe or even VGS. My reccomendation (I know you didn't ask for it), don't even bother w/it.
sincerely,

Ouch! sXamiga... Ouch!.. And Mr Frog thought that fpse was the best.. :(
It runs ok on my system but I only use it to play Parasite Eve 2 every once in a while.. Nothing more.. Its slower than epsxe though.. And has less compatibility, except it can play the game above.. :)

curious
ePSXe just suck on my system (due some weird problem with cd I guess) and FPSE rules,
May you have to get the necessary stuff to use it and try to configure it before opening your mouth?
anyway You are free to use whatever you want ^^

wow!!
A fpse team member actually reads the epsxe boards!!! I actually do have everything and configured correctly... Its just not faster than epsxe for me.. I got a tbird 1000, voodoo 5 5500.. I tried using the same graphic settings for both epsxe and fpse.. Epsxe still ran faster and has less graphic glitches in all my games... except PE2.. I think fpse will get better with more devepment.. But in my opinion, epsxe is still a lot better at the moment..

many people think epsxe is better
a few people think fpse is better
chances are, the few people is mistaken, and the many people are correct
in other words, lu_zero, maybe you are the one who should
"get the necessary stuff to use it and try to configure it"
for epsxe.
there's no definite answer tho. everyone should try all emus and use what they CAN use best ;)

your analogy is so completely flawed.
windows dont run the same software as beos, linux, etc. people use windows because of all the compatibility issues, not because it's "better".
it's like comparing ZSNES with FPSe :D

strange I can use ICQ,do my internet stuff, programming, drawing and so on on all of them and imagine what is the OS that doesn't make me MAD because of random crashes, unexpected error and misbehaviours?
I think that is the same...

By the way Lu_zero, what time do you think the BeOS version of FPSE to be out?:p
lu_zero
August 26th, 2001, 20:00
when I can get a good gpu working on BeOS and since I just suck even in trying to get pete´s one ported I guess will be later... REALLY later and anyway if ppl like windoze so much why make ports?
(PS I guess that tetris on the ps2 is quite different from the nes one...)

just wondering... isn't BeOS dead since Palm bought most of it?
lu_zero
August 26th, 2001, 22:49
bah I can make a release for the actual BeOS anyway...
And actually all I did (really few) compile and works on Linux too
sadly doesn't on QNX (since BeOS won't be updated in a short time - say never - I move to QNX=P )

I am not sure it is complete dead or not. It looks like palm is more open than Be on the future of BeOS. Anyway, I dont expect that there will be any update shortly too(perhap someone will leak the hardware openGL and Bone):-).

wow, when i started this thread i didn't know all this people were gonna fight over epsxe and fpse, heh heh, i guess that's how it goes if you put it in the epsxe forum....

I still don´t know if BeOS is in the Ip that Palm bought from Be or not...
having a GL&Bone leak does not have any sense anyway.
Bah QNX is good too... let´s try to understan why fpse compiles but the gpusoft segfaults...
PS pete I´m gonna try your gpu also if you want the qnx compiled I´ll send it you asap

It's not about which emulator is better or not. Just figure out the possibilities how many times the psx emu scene has its up & downs. PSEmuPro ruled back in '98. Everyone thought it will last. Well it didnt. Then there was ePSXe, a surprise. And then LDChen makes a good release of his emulator, lets say a bit worse than ePSXe. Just imagine that right now, with the current behaviour of most people we lost a CHANCE to let FPSE be better in the future. Is it nicer now that it stopped? Dont think so.
And something else. I would flame everything I think its not good. But this would take place only if I had pay for the product, and I wasnt satisfied. Whats the purpose of flaming a FREEWARE (FREE PEOPLE, FREE!) PlayStation Emulator? While our mouths are shut, the author will work with pleasure on his child, and eventually we will all get satisfied.
