View Full Version : Annoying save type problem...

I'm sure this is probably normal, but when I had the same problem as others for DBZ Legacy of Goku I switched to EEPROM. Well when I went to play some other games I noticed that it wasn't saved from where I saved in the game. It just started over. I didn't use EEPROM when I played the other games. I just left it on automatic. Anyway is there a way for the emulator to compensate for save type change or is that just normal that it overwrites over the original save data when you change save type? Thx in advance.

Try switching back to auto, and then playing those other games again. It's probably looking for an eeprom save for that game (since that's what you have it set to now), but can't find one because it saved in sram or something the last time you played.

Nope... It didn't fix it. Oh well. I figured that it would overwrite and it did.

Try switching back to auto, open a game that you haven't saved over in eeprom yet, load your saved game, switch to eeprom, and resave. I'm not sure if VBA will allow you to switch savetypes in midgame like that, but if it does, that should enable you to use your old saves.

Is it asking too much for people to read the readme and start using the vba-over.ini file to fix these kind of problems? It allows per game configuration of some settings, which in DBZ's case is the save type.

The problem with readmes is that most of them only contain useless crap like copyright stuff. Therefore, people get in the habit of ignoring the readme files.
