I used to have an nes, snes and genesis with the sega cd...kinda wish I still had all those.
I have been thinking on trying to get a used sega cd on ebay, but I am not sure just how many years the lens will last on those.
I realy should get a DC soon, I want test it out on my pc monitor.
Yea the wega trinitron is pretty sweet huh ? I just have it with s video...I am not going to spend 2 grand on a HDTV when I can spend 2 grand on games :) but I still want a damn 50 inch plasma...
Oh yea...is it just me or does that TV go farther back than even a pc monitor ? the thing is one large beast !
When the screen dies out I think I will drop it from my 11th floor balcony on to some inocent person :)

That is the top of the line wega 20 inch with s video and wow, sony likes to be cheap bastards and only include s video with their best TV's ( doesnt matter the size its the model ).
It cost me after taxes something like...650 or so.
Thats Canadian so I think last time I checked it on a US website ( when I was looking around the net ) they are around 399 or so.
At the time our $ was like...worth I think 68 cents US, now its changed ( which pisses me off cause I sell to americans mostly on ebay and get less money ! ) I would check out best buy or a place like that for a better deal.
I would say if you want something of a "standard" size with superior picture quality and good sound...go with it, although you can get a panasonic that is pretty much just a few steps under that for much less.
Course if you have more money than brains,go and buy a $10,000 50 inch plasma :)

It was a christmas gift for me. In canada it cost about 600 dollars. so convert that to american ... around four hundred and something im guessing. And yes it is a sweet screen. I have the s video one also. It makes big difference. Ya it is huge too! takes up my whole shelp and i can fit myself on it!
I just saw a plasma television the other day! it was sooo nice. but 10 000 $$$ for one ... um i'll hold off till they drop down. :)

I personaly would never buy anything made by "sanyo" nor would I buy any electronics from Walmart.
I am sure you could actualy find a better TV for around that price or a little bit more shopping around by a "quality" manufactuer.
If you are hurting realy bad for cash and cant afford a better one ? look around your garage or old room etc and post some stuff on ebay, easy enough.
Im not saying to buy the most expensive, just get something middle ground, you dont want some garbage TV that will burn out in 3 years ( like a few of the cheap ones I use to buy ).

There's nothing with Wal-Mart. I've never had any problems with stuff from there. I'll look at BestBuy's site if you don't think Sanyo is a very good company. I don't know if I trust Sony like you do though. My friend's PS2 stopped playing DVD's the other week.
Edit: Ok, yeah. I'm not made out of money like most people here and I'm not gonna pay the outrageous prices Best Buy is charging.

Hrmmm
Yea I have heard of problems with the ps2 being a pile of junk and breaking down for no reason, but I never have had any problems with mine ( and I smoke a pack a day around all my hardware... ) I am pretty sure its either just morons or people who do not treat their electronics very well ( laying discs face down on hard surfaces anyone ,throwing con trollers ? hitting your machine ? :) ) or possibly letting little screaming bastards around it.
Same goes for GC ,never had a problem.
Funny enough, I actualy went through 3 psx ( not ps one although I do have one ) but not because they broke down,I actualy got sick of them or needed money.
I never actualy had a psx or ps one break down on me either.
Could just be my luck ( knock on wood ) or maybe like I said its that I take care of my stuff.
As far as trusting sony, NO sorry :) I do not trust any company when it comes to hardware ( well ok maybe panasonic ) because...like all hardware,it has its limitations and electronics are not made how they were in the 80s kids...now that was reliable stuff !
I actualy have a sony transitor radio from the 1970s ( one of those wood cabinet ones ) and it still works like a charm and its almost in mint shape.
With TV's now I find most of them last about 5 years...give or take...then they either fade to **** or just break...doesnt matter the company.
When it comes to a TV though and for modern consoles ( since they are not exactly emualted and we cant enjoy em on our nice monitors for pc ) I prefer to get a standard sized BEST quality ( or near enough ) for GAMES with s video, I am not saying to go hog out and blow 4 -10 grand on some crazy sized beast TV ( less you are some full time hooker or drug dealer heh ) but I do suggest getting a GOOD TV...if you can.
I am far from made of money though, I am well off...but not rich.
Here is a tip though,go out to the good will/sally anne or yard sales this summer, go every second saturday with around 15 -20 US,set up an ebay acount and watch that 20 $ turn into a 200-300% markup.
How do you think I support a PC and 4 consoles on top of smokes and beer every week ?
Why by taking the "stupid moron public" and senile estranged senior citazens who argue about the variations of two inch chunks of plaster depicting little orphans selling newspapers from the 18th centuray :)
And yes...best buy isnt exactly the cheapest, try pawn shops too...you can normaly find decent TV's there that some junkie has pawned ( and they normaly get the good stuff :) .

omg, I feel poor. :( Aw, come on, I'm sure we've all gone through most of the consoles through the years. I just happen to have some laying around still is all:)
As far as the TV, last year I got a second job solely to buy it, I bought the PSX refurbished just before the dual-shock analog controller came out, almost all of my PSX games were bought used, The g-force wheel was refurbished off ebay for $33US, I got the PS2 off a friend for $100 w/ 1 controller and 16MB memcard, I only have a few PS2 titles, I bought Monster cable component video hookups for the PS2 off ebay for $12US, and I bought the shadowblade at a local video game store used for $15US:)
